Its always bad when another company on the market goes bust. Less companies, means less competition, smaller segmentation of the market, as a result higher prices. Guys anyone here has an extra Billion $ on his account, you know maybe give 3dfx a second chance? Consumers will be so happy!

I used to have the Point of View GTX 570 TGT Ultra Charged but mine was a duel fan not that crap small single fan version, was a great card back in the day

I never heard of this company but it sucks that stuff like this happens almost everyday.I am actually shocked that bigger names like EVGA for example can maintain a user base based on how expensive cards have gotten, You basically need $1000 every year to set aside for graphics alone, that's a lot of freakin money. Need and want are completely different things, he'll my Gtx 780 is still pushing strong. Might pick up a used 980ti?

Why, it's called NVIDIA now as they bought 3Dfx. And they do mighty fine when it comes to performance.

You completely missed the context of the post. He talking about a 3rd option of 3dfx actually being back.

Even if they were that wouldn't make any difference to me since I'm bulgarian.

That wasn't really my point, what im trying to say is we need a 3rd GPU manufacturer, maybe then the whole industry would finally start innovating more. Currently we have Nvidia leading in performance, however at its price premium majority of the users cannot afford such hardware, or simply don't want to buy a card above a certain price point. Higher competition should reduce the price, thats why im currently eagerly waiting for AMD to release their upcoming cards, and fingers crossed that they will be at least same level as 1080's. Because if they are not, Nvidia will still push their " amazing " prices down our throats. Long gone are the years when top gpu was around 300-400$, now its nearly triple the cost, and that's in US. In EU and for example usually all of the US prices are Same in euro + 20/30% extra. Hence why a 3rd player on the market would be amazing.

They were a good company with exceptional customer support , so sad to see them go. I had 2x 9600GTs on SLI by them Point Of View back in the day , i had to rma a card once and it was done in a fast no questions asked manner.

Nah, one of the reasons they probably went bankrupt is because NOONE knows them that well. Bought 2 of their cards in the past, didn't run into problems and they worked fine.

This is why I always find Intel/NVidia vs AMD posts idiotic. If anything, it's better for us if there's competition and they're head to head. The € 800 I payed for the 1080GTX is really stretching towards the borders of my budget and frankly I think it would probably be priced at € 600 if the competition was there. These prices aren't just inflation that's for sure.

Why do you assume the person is in the US?
