lol, glad i waited.

So at the end the "it is due to users" become a "maybe it is a connector conception problem"... Pathetic isn't it?

Everybody, their fishing buddies, and their cats 'n' dogs knew it's related to the new connector, which isn't user friendly enough for the mass market, even if it works 100% in the lab. However, the lawyers controlling all the companies would never allow company representatives to admit anything of that sort, hence it's purely a user error as far as statements are concerned. Pathetic indeed.

I don't see this fix the 4090 melting issues that still happen daily, though that seems to happen with the CableMod adapter only at the moment. CableMod still uses Astron (3 dimple) as brand for the terminals.

It's the same size connector, just different sense pin lengths.

Coming to your new PC hardware in 2025.

It's god that they improved safety. Better for everyone.

And this might solve the things as the wiring and pin seem bigger (from other source) Also, as i have said in another post, with bigger pin and wire i was limited to 300W in industrial, it was strange that with thinner pin and wire and smaller isolant they could claim 600W... From my point it was illogical.

I still argue that any GPU that pulls more than 300W doesn't belong in the consumer market. It's not innovation, its wasteful. Well, at least their room will be warm during winter, and a furnace during summer! 😀

With the shortening of the sense pins i forsee a lot of failing system boots.

Sigh.....

I cant help but wonder how long this will take to become standard, hope it fixes the problems

Long, probably why RTX 5000 is due for 2025 ^^

Isn't that a good thing? Then it would work as intended.

Seems this is what CableMod uses... that's not even 3-dimple style... No wonder all their adapters are melting.

they couldn't use gold plating because ?!?

It's not even about the gold plating, they claimed to be using NTK with 4-spring design, but they're clearly not.

Gold plating is only good for holding the pins clean on connections in dirty environments. The gold will wear off with this type of connection and the pins are not exposed to finger sweat or moisture or other things the gold protects against. The connector should rather have some kind of locking mechanism that pulls the connectors together with a latch system or bring back the old Comport/VGA/DVI style securing screws.

I think that's the idea.
