Awesome, if pricey. Good to see tech finally moving on from 2560 x 1440.

Great review Hilbert, I guess you have eye bags till knees now because of this detailed test/review but I'm sure anyone uf us here at Guru3D wouldnt be sleeping for days near that 31.5" monster. Probably you are tired but fulfilled after this UHD adventure ๐Ÿ™‚ Thumbs up man, keep up the good work, because od Guru3D, it's forum and reviews like this I've decided to left Facebook few weeks ago, now I know why and I don't regret! ๐Ÿ˜€

Very interesting read. Dual GPUs seem to have enough horsepower to drive ultra definition gaming but the monitor seems to have some problems that shouldnยดt exist on something that costs 3000โ‚ฌ... I just hope that with now 30 monitors prices will drop so i can buy one because UHD is still far away for me...

25" is about the max I'd use for desktop monitor. I'd like to see 2560 x 1440 24" or 25" monitors.

Moving on? They have only just started flooding the market as the new standard. I'm saving-up for the Asus 1440. And you want to move on? When will it end?

What in the hell are you on about, you want tech to SLOW DOWN!?! how long do you want us to fkn wait. 1080p is so 5 years ago and we still need SLI to drive it properly. Bloody joke, we need MUCH higher res monitors as STANDARD so Nvidia have to actually up there game with regards to releasing there tech that they sit on at a more SENSIBLE rate. Trickle trickle trickle... PREMIUM prices every time... It's nearly 2014 buddy, the wheel is out dated and so needs to be using your hands for gaming. Time to MOVE ON FOR SURE. If you wanna be stuck in the fkn 1930's that's fine, you party on with your mechanical crunching HDD and 19" LED 1080p monitor for the next few years, while you at it, how about a shiney new XBox 360? to really dazzle you with frame rates, graphics and epic loads times. (wait, or is that Xbox One? not sure I can tell) ARRRRG!

Lovely review but all this tells me is this I AM right that not even the 1000$ can deal with that resolution, Mid/Entry level have no chance in hell running those resolutions. Until Mid range at bare minimum can hand that resolution with acceptable FPS, I just dont see those Monitors becoming standard. Though day this happen will be great day, I will no longer need AA as it is I see no need for AA on 1080p if I 6+ feet away like I am when I use my HDTV, but at 1 foot I still visible jaggies. Now I tried 2560x1440 once downscaled on my 1080p Made my desktop super small and unreadable at 1 foot away, Tried ins Swtor which suffer greatly from jaggies, And that resolutions damn near removed all the jaggies imo which was better then FXAA @ 1080p @3840x2160 I would not see jaggies, but I sure there would be people crying Jaggies When GPU can handle that resolution I think we all in for nice treat. But then even 3840x2160 Is not anywhere near the pixels we need to see how exactly how we see with our own eyes, would probably need something about 10~20x the pixels having a GPU capable of both I dont see happen anytime soon

Chill man. I was being (slightly) joking with Bleahh. I agree about future tech. I like 1440 as it is just-about affordable for guys like me with a lot of financial constraints. And it is (finally) a large improvement on 1080 which I've had for many years.

Nice, but way too big for my desk I'm afraid. A question for Hilbert: How would you compare this to Eyefinity with three 22" 1080P monitors? As in, how is the eye fatigue etc. when comparing the two setups?

It's new, so it is still expensive. I could not afford one now. Besides that it really needs much better graphics cards. For now I am happy with what I have. More than happy. Really nothing to complain about with an Asus PB278Q (2560*1440). I can't wait until UHD becomes main******, though. Edit: Damn. Fix that auto censor thingy! It is really hard to even write the most common sentences these days.

Love it!! I can't wait for GPU's to be able to handle these a bit better. I barely just upgraded to 1440p and I already can't wait for 4k !! Thanks for the review HH.

Have you ever used a larger display? It takes some getting use to, but I even find myself wanting larger than my 27". Probably a 32-36" would be a nice size. Then again its down to personal preference, and I prefer a very high field of view as well. I do agree it would be nice to see some higher pixel density displays coming out.

I'm getting tired of seeing your nonsensical offensive nerd rage on these forums. If you really couldn't stand PC gaming that much, why are you still sticking around? Just to share your dislike for pc gaming ?

so 3 titans are must to maintain 60fps minimum @4K resolution i suppose... ๐Ÿ™

After reading this review I really want to move up to at least 1440p now! 4K is way way out of my price range! Anyone got any experience with these Korean 27" 1440p displays! I need to move up from 24" 1080p!

You really have to compare those monitors with an equivalent 1080P standard monitor though, since people usually get them to upgrade and are probably moving from a TN panel. Aren't most of those budget Korean monitors not using the latest AH-IPS? Maybe E-IPS? I'm not saying they're not good value, just that they do have some downsides that shouldn't be overlooked, and that you shouldn't compromise on other areas of picture quality just to get 1440P.
My overlord has the same LG panel as in the Apple Cinema or dell U2711 .... same as the Yamakasi Catleap afaik. With proper color profile(redily available) it looks fantastic. Some others do have the mildly inferior Samsung PLS such as the Qinx q-star. A low end PLS is still loads better than any TN from what I've read. Yeah the main drawbacks to the korean brands are warrenty, support, and case quality ... Not too many people have a problem though. A lot of sellers have same or better dead/stuck/bright pixel policy than Apple or Dell last time I looked into it.
