That's not nothing when you consider Switch won't have any multiplayer heavy hitters like Destiny, Titanfall, Battlefield and so on. On my WiiU I played Mario Kart 8 online for about maybe 10 hours total and Splatoon for 1-2 hours, paying to play these 2 games for a few hours online would be an absurd imo.

^^^Yeah i was just going to say that, I could possible understand a full grown kick ass power house Nintendo home console having a subscription service to compete with Sony/MS to play all the triple A and third party games and ports, but a online sub to access online for basically a handheld with a Tv output, it will be interesting to see who takes this up.

Nintendo had no developers with the Wii U, that was the problem with it. The Switch has a number of big names lined up already at least. No whether or not we see something from these developers, only time will tell. But considering Nintendo is willing to go subscription based to help cover the costs of infrastructure leads me to believe they've got support behind it already.

Cheaper than the other console counterparts, and free classic games from month to month.. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Online Bomberman: 2 local players vs 6 online players over the work wi-fi at lunchtimes in the break room is going to be my primary reason for buying this console. Then Mario Kart the next month added into the rotation.

Why does this suddenly need to be a thing. I've yet found a valid reason for it, its just a slimy cash grab which is suddenly "ok" now because others are doing it.

Nintendo, Sony and MS be like 'we heard you like internet so we thought we would charge you a fee to provide you with internet while you pay your Internet Service Provider to provide you with internet.' F*ck off Sony, MS and Nintendo.

paying to have the ability to play online after you paid for the games ...is like they are charging you for the air you breathe in my opinion .

Go one step further and do a mobile hotspot on your phone, online play anywhere. Done it a few times with 3ds, not for online play though

Many Wii U developers dropped out. Im expecting the same with Switch to happen. While i think 25 a year isnt much at all, there wont be many games to take advantage of it. Mario Kart , splatoon , what more ? It will be just for online too, so no extra services or games that come with it like microsoft and sony are doing. Instead they will make people pay for their games over and over again, and even then the shortcoming of a large storage capacity is not really handy to say the least.

Yet people pay $15 a month to play only WoW. $25 a year is pretty good deal. Who knows what else you'll get with this too. Maybe you'll get free games like MS and Sony do.
