A flat 32:9 monitor? Insanity.

I think he's saying in general. They had those 32" odyssey VA screens that I'd like to get but honestly the curve was a turn off for me (plus the flickering which i guess is now resolved via firmware) Personally just going to wait until OLED hits 42" or lower at this point. My monitor is from 2015 - six years later and I still don't see a real upgrade.. mostly just sidegrades with various tradeoffs.

16:9 curved monitors is retarded yes. Lets see, anything from 16:9 to 21:9 or bigger is an upgrade. But thats just me. Nothing has been a side grade for me, but I never like to use the normality since going ultrawide in 2015. 25 inch 1080p 60hz, 25 inch 2560x1080p 75hz. 29 inch 2560x1080p 85hz, 35 inch 3440x1440p 100hz, 49 inch 3840x1080p 144hz, and that doesnt include my many different triple setups in between.

Yeah I won't be buying any monitor until we have OLED's, preferably 32-40" with 120Hz and 600-800 nits. Would like more of a semi gloss display though, as the 48" CX is very reflective.

Wish tech media would stop shortening the word Nitere to NIT. Latin Nitere, which means β€œto shine. A nit is a the egg of a louse, which sticks to the fur of an animal or the hair of a person: https://www.ubergizmo.com/what-is/nit-lux-lumen/

A decent upgrade on the OG G9. Only I don't believe the price will warrant the performance. The OG G9 was barely good value for money, this is far from it.

Oooooh, that mega 2K zone FALD! ... with mega price to match. Expecting this to be the best monitor ever, but way above my paygrade so... I can only drool.

If only there is a smaller version of this that doesn't break my wallet. I have been waiting for OLED 1440p or miniLED 1440p but it seems I might have to wait for another decade.

Would love to See there VA panels... Flat for 1440p or 4k, but samsung seem to have hard on for curved monitors

But why not REC 2020 ? not 12 BIT color ? What is worth 2000NITS without REC 2020 or 12 BIT Ultra Blu-ray movies arrive at REC 2020 or 12 BIT Dolby Vision

When I was looking at buying a new monitor I had to exclude Samsung as a brand because all their flat monitors are for office. Obviously I'm talking about 16:9 as I'm not into ultra wides, I'd prefer a 24'' 2k monitor right now. For ultra wide I guess the curve has some logic to it, but samsung just went all in: no variety.

2000 Nits? Quite literally, I WILL GO BLIND... When perusing pr0n, of course. Almost a million pixels less than 4K, so this is 3090 friendly, nice!

Yeah 3090 runs just about everything @ 5120x1440 just fine I have last year model of the G9 which had a little bit of a issue with DSC so at least the new one has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and only 1 display port so no more need for DSC. This has been fixed with firmware/driver updates. The pre orders went quick first it said by Aug 8th now its showing mine to get here Sept 16. I was actually thinking the MSRP would of been even higher than it was and you get a JBL Quantum One headset with Pre-Order which has had mixed review but we will see if they can replace my Sennheiser set.

I've been using an HDR2000 TV for 3 years and can still see. HDR doesnt mean 2000 nits is used all the time for everything.

as an owner of the current 1000r 240hz G9 i agree. The flickering is gone... but there are so many other issues. I wish i had gone with the LG CX or C1 48inch OLED for the price i paied on this. I have already had a full internal Parts swap on this G9 due to backlight issues. 100% worst item i have ever spent 1500+ on. Sure it works now and is great but the constant Clicking it makes from it adjusting its weight inside its caseing is bloody anoying. the fact that when you enable Local Dimming with HDR it looks absolutely Awful really pisses me off. The Singular reason i wanted HDR1000 is to be able to enjoy HDR content with and active backlight array. Whats even More rediculous is that when viewing 16by9 content the Back light array in the odyssey G9 doesn't fit 16by9 center frame. the backlights are a 1inch to each side and create a horible side glow. End Rant... I honestly would not trust the hype on the G9 Neo....
