Polaris? NVidia? Oh, I see - it's NV's "answer" to Polaris-based "budget class"...

Does full support 4K H.265 10bit hardware acceleration?

Hm, I wonder if using this card purely for PhysX will make any difference? Does it have enough Juice in it?

I don't see the price justify the purchase, either be red or green team. If you can't afford a GTX1050 or RX560 you have to focus on getting a job, not gaming.

No offense but that's a "thick" argument. Example - Why would a person that watches movies and works on his PC need a gtx 1050? It is irrelevant to him.

This. That's why having 10bit for HDR or codecs hardware accelaration is important. It can be used for Home theater PC.

the only thing that excites me about these kind of cards is h.265 and hdr 10bit support. If it has that then good upgrade for old system. for example if you have an old i3 you can just buy this gpu and make it an awesome HTPC/game stream pc

Come on nvidia, dont release budget cards, instead give us another Titan XpX.

You must have missed the news that there are not enough jobs for everyone and it is only going down in part thanks to automation (which should be a good thing in theory, but in practice isn’t due to people’s revenues being too much tied to having a job). Also having a job does not mean having enough money to buy gaming PCs. For example "over 3 million German workers now fall below the poverty line." it's not a price question in this segment, but more a "what do you need?" one (also on top of that even without a job there is more powerfull second hand choise that are easy to found). but i agree with you about the purchase: Since i have tried actual iGP and APU, i don't see the point to buy below GTX950 / GTX1050 or RX450/550, and even at this limit the choice can be iGP/APU in most of the case. i think it will be a marginal upgrade for old system mainly (as the gt730/740 was).

Quite a few games just need something to draw pixels on the screen, MOBAs for example, even my iris 6100 can do HOTS more than good enough for me. That said, new 'entry level' graphics cards have traditionally sucked very, very hard from a value perspective, gaming wise, and are only a sensible choice if they also have some nice media stuff baked in, which this surely does.

There are a bunch of reviews on stuff like this, for most part games are so strong nowadays that physx has become less demanding over time, specially in the top end market of cards anyway. For the most part it is not that worth it since physx is not used that often in games and like i said cards can often handle it themselves. 1030, i would be maybe to weak you might end up with worse performance than before, though i have heard of people using 550ti or 650 as physx cards and in some games they can gain 1-5fps on stuff like batman arkham

We're talking about barrel scraping gaming here, but, it seems some people are really looking forward to seeing what this card can do, especially as many are seeing the rx550 as being a poor card especially vs rx560 for the money. If Nvidia can get this GT 1030 out the door for £80-90 paired with 4GB ram and better performance than the rx550, then, I think they're onto a "winner" in this price-bracket. This is obviously not the kind of product that most of us here will buy, but, looking on youtube, there is definately some demand for this product.

This type of cards have a good market in south america. Hardware in Argentina is really expensive. the GT730 / R7 350 used to sells like hotcakes. But now the 1050 / 1050Ti is more popular, because the goverment remove some import taxes and the prices of computer parts dropped up to 30%.
