Me, coming from an RTX 3080 which never felt powerful enough. The RTX 4090 was a worthy upgrade for 4K gaming.
I actually feel that way about my 3090 even at 1440p. Sadly I can con the wife into letting me get another $2k video card without buying here something big too lol.

The 3080Ti takes up .72% of steam hardware survey, with Steam having 120mil active player that ~860k owners, 3090 is around ~570k owners. With how good the 4090 is, should be easy >500k sale worldwide

100.000 for the hole world isn't much and those are not sales, but units produced.
Totaly agree, also think that China is not in financial crisis as we are, they just have a small slow down due to "zero covid" law.

I bought one. Brutal performance, 2 - 3x my 2080 Ti. Nothing e-peenish. Just the very best, extremely enjoyable performance.

The 4090 costs 2,5k$ up to 2,8k$ here in Sweden it's pathetic and priced and people throw themselves at it il never spend that for a graphics card shame on u Nvidia cash hungry .......... I would love to tell them in words

Produced doesn't mean sold to the public.

100%, their economy is suffering and will implode at some point. this is true of every civilisation in history when the working class/middleclass/upper close triangle becomes an ellipse.

If i was back in the UK and AMD didnt have something just around the corner id grab one, but waiting on actual gaming 7900XTX performance figures and then when im back in Jan il decide what to get.

I'm a little sceptical for performance, really. 1.5-1.6x is what they showed, but those are their results. the actual avg. result might be under 50%, while 3090-4090 was 1.8x for 4K and it beat 6900xt at 4K in the first place. https://www.computerbase.de/2022-10/asus-geforce-rtx-4090-tuf-oc-review-test/2/

Agreed but i want to see ingame results, also im not really an RT gamer as the games i play most dont use it although id probably run back through M EE and RE7 with max RT just to see. The Ek blocks for the 4090 are £200, thats pretty shocking as well, £2k for a card plus block. As ive said before on here its not the cash but i dont like having my pants pulled down.

most new games do have ray tracing, even amd-sponsored ones. and a 1000usd card in 2023 should absolutely be a compelling option both for rasterization but for rt as well. just saying, amd might be cheaper, but it's not all so simple. 4090 really has a lot of performance, in every scenario.

Ive just looked at the Steam top 25 games and i dont own a single one of them ha ha ha ha. newest games i have is Steal Div 2, Metro EE and RDR2 I fly DCS more than anything and that doesnt even use multi core efficiently, they wont use RT for years in that as its such a performance hog. Ive have both my 5800x3d and 6900xt maxed out with 50GB of RAM usage. *EDIT just been reading some 4090 reviews Ref DCS and 4090 with a 7700X runs 80-110 fps at 4K with every single option turned up to max (Over Dubai). Thats pretty good to be honest. My 6900xt clocked at 2.5ghz drops to maybe 50fps at street level.

Pretty sad that people support the insane price demands of Mr Leatherman... Consider that the cost of it is few hundred dollars and we asked to pay it for 2500K + € ....Even Nvidia didn't really believe that would be such demand for a gaming graphics card with that price tag. That also includes the 4080 as well. As a friend here commended: they are asking us such a price for a " technology " like dlss3 which renders at low resolution and upscale it back to monitor's resolution? It is odd indeed but true. I just hope AMD to kick their butt regarding pricing as they did to Intel few years ago. Monopolies and oligopolies are pretty bad and worst is the fact that irrational customers support them...

There are lots of people who have always paid exorbitant money for GPUs for decades, in fact Guru3d has many enthusiasts who have tri/quad SLI/xfire configs that cost 1500-2500usd back then. Nvidia is now selling to those customers with single high end GPU. If you think it's stupid then it's your problem

it's one gen for each new node these days. and it won't change. this is the reason for 450w 1500usd cards.

And yet I can't find to buy a single one where I live, other than from scum of the earth scalpers...
There you go... many available right now... more than a few days ago, when only 2 or 3 models in stock...seems stock levels are increasing as all the big spenders already got their card... will be harder to push remainder to all us common folks with not this much money to throw around on expensive toys. Seems to be only Palit, Zotac types always in stock though... never seen the more "higher-end" cards like MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS in stock ever. Also... 100,000? I thought they said this massive die was difficult to manufacture and yields would be low... I'd love to know what the yield rate is on it! https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/gpu-nvidia-gaming/geforce-rtx-4090-graphics-cards

This is great, I hope the scalpers asking for £2000+ for these cards on ebay end up having to sell at a loss.
