For the education of myself and others who don't know, how does this work? Could you pair it effectively with AMD apu or even Intel integrated graphics? Does it work like a computational backbone to a limited VGA solution, or do you need to pair it with something like a 7970 or Titan? Thanks

It processes CUDA and OpenCL based GPGPU workloads. It doesn't do graphics, so the graphics output card, in reality, makes no difference. Unless NVidia has coded it's drivers otherwise.

You can pair it with any CPU and NVidia based GPU for computing workloads. Only way to use integrated graphics is by using it as a display adapter and the Tesla card for the workload.

These cards cost more than most of us spend on our computers.... These cards tend to make SLI'd Titans look cheap. To give you an idea....the entry price of the HP branded Tesla K20 is $2423.95 from B&H....and the NVidia branded Tesla K20 is $3499.99 from Newegg.

The original G80 based Tesla card was $2500 as well. Can't deny the fact that these cards are computing monsters and depending on the task, are well worth the asking price. The Maxwell based models should be even better....but this is a market that NVidia rightfully owns and for damn good reasons.

a very steady hand can fix that most have the spots on the PCB for the outputs of coruse u need more then just then the output but every little damn smd component as well.... there is also Tesla Workstation ones I have seen where it does have an output on it as well but I never found them on nvidias site so :3eyes:

Nvidia has owned the GPGPU and professional graphics markets for years because of driver teams, reliability, programmers, and support. These are highly specialized cards not meant for gaming, and the software required is crucial.

NVidia sells the stand-alone cards and complete workstations. The Tesla cards themselves don't have video output. The workstations require a video out though as they're intended to be connected to a monitor if needed.
