single 8-pin 3080 12g with dlss3 at 599, pretty sweet upgrade for a 3060Ti. the leaked 200w tdp was correct if avg. gaming is 186w, so far every ada card stays well under the tdp, even the 4090 while ampere/rdna3 always hit the power limit pretty much all the time, even my 3060Ti hits 220w if I don't UV. I this a basic msrp design like gb eagle will have no trouble keeping this at 60 degrees. These days even entry level cards have great cooling solutions. See how the eagle doesn't really look that poor compared to tuf/suprim. https://static.techspot.com/articles-info/2643/images/2023-03-15-image-2.jpg

This GPUs reminds me as a Maxwell moment, not properly much better in terms of performance compared to kepler but power consumption went down. Looks like even a mediocre cooler can do a good job, undervolting will be interesting.

yup, finally. hated seeing 250w 3070.

20% more expensive, 27.5% more powerful than 3070. Almost a zero-sum game.

My 3070 was pulling 270w at 2040mhz oc 😀

Somehow I have a feeling it won't actually be 27% faster.... maybe just at 1080p, but definitely not at higher res like ultrawide 1440p or at 16:9 4K That vram bus reduction will hurt for sure at higher resolutions. I have a feeling this will be on average 20% faster, 20% more expensive. Value stagnation ftw !

@Undying 6800 pulling 205-227w at 2513-2536mhz https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/001/449/977/aba.gif Love how Radeon instantly goes to 0rpm in the menus, GeForce never did that. I resolved the YT playback issue too by turning off hw acceleration, 165hz works fine only 14w power. Though Control center oc can sometimes need a full system reboot, that's one downside I can find so far. And how fsr2 vs dlss of course, but that I knew before. Overall im positively surprised. Will be selling 3060ti once 4060 launches and people see its pretty much no progress.

was really hoping for a 499$ as it should not more then that, but ya if pref is there and and I can find ont for 599$ at microcenter i would probably pick that before i go back instead new cpu/mb/ram as honsetly i rather wait to 14 series which supposed to be lot more power efficient. at one one point i think i will just wait till the 16 series from intel, that would whole 10 gen since i did system

People really think it's gonna be $600 in stores?

It's not the crypto craze anymore. There will be plenty of cards available because there's no endless mining demand. If stores hike the prices up, the wares will remain on the shelves. Especially when we are talking about a mainstream card (though the price doesn't feel like mainstream). People looking for a mainstream card are much more price sensitive than those wanting the flagship or an enthusiast model. Furthermore, if one store wants to scalp, another store will offer a better deal. All that being said, I live in Finland, so I expect the shops here to charge a little bit more, in addition to the effect of the high VAT, of course. They always do. I'd welcome a positive surprise, naturally.

In the past when the euro was about 1.15 to a USD the vat was kinda offset by that so an MSRP of 100 you could expect to find the item on 100~105 euros but now that the euro is much closer to USD we feel it a lot more .... We will see with the 4060 being that weak on paper with allegedly 8gb vram 4070 better deliver enough to convince me. With my luck with GPU updates I will get it and when I plan to update anew crypto boom will start again delaying it's retirement for 2+ years .... Looking at you my long dead 770 and thankfully still alive 1060.

Don't forget that NVIDIA massively sized up the L2 cache size compared to the RTX 3070. 36 MB of L2 cache vs 4 MB of L2 cache. This will significantly boost the performance, just like the added L3 cache helps the RX 7000 series cards. Except of course L2 cache is even better than L3 cache.
