With availability being what it is right now, I may just wait for this, and whatever the AMD equivalent will be..

New generations are always welcome, but to be honest 99% of users will only be curious about the actual prices. The present generation is a joke in terms of street price.

Well, with the way the market and supply chain is playing out, I wouldn't be surprised to see the RTX4080 to be £1000 starting price with a highly limited edition run founders edition for £750

price of rtx4000 will be higher not only on absolute but also per performance imho. Let's see.

Rooting for Intel to come in with a viable contender to limit price gouging by Nvidia.

Thank Covid so we can skip to the next gen with better price to performance ratios!

And don't forget to add 25% to the gpu price if you live in the U.S.for tariff.

Hooper/Lovelace still using monolithic die? AMD will win next generation.

In my country, there are a lot of cards, availability is not an issue. But the prices are 2x of MSRP, coupled with the summer holiday, the cards are sitting on the shelves, but i don't see the prices going down any time soon. Maybe by the time the 4000 series comes out, things will be back to normal, but it is not up to us, the gamers.

same as every generation since fury x,amd always win easily before they're launched. chiplet design on same node and same architecture is supposed to bring double the performance. nvidia is doing a monolitihic die,but going from 10nm ("8nm") samsung to tsmc's 5nm/5+ with new architecture again almost doubling the shader core count. imo first iterations of mcm gpus will struggle with the same problems as first ryzens - latency.the theoretical fp32 power will be huge.the returns - who knows.

Even with tariffs the US probably still has the cheapest prices in the world excluding mining bs

The 4080 should be my next GPU, but only if it comes in at or below the 3080's MSRP. If we run into scalping and supply issues, the 2080Ti will have to last me yet another generation. I just can't justify these prices for the limited gaming that I do nowadays. I'm not spending 1000 EUR to play the next CP2077 for 50 hours.

Better clean out and repaste the 2080Ti.

No one should be excited about any future GPU launch... Until prices won't get back to normal, we can't get any gpu within a reasonable price margin.

RTX 4000 means 4K for single gpu :P

20% gain 50% to cost? i mean they have been on roll lately with price hikies, prices are already out my range even for the xx60 series, i more interested if they significantly reduce power consumption or if they hiked that up too a 10% reduction in power from 200+ is still more power then my 1070ti uses

Hopper will use a Multi-Chip Module (MCM) design. Rumors are that Lovelace might be dropped for PC in favor of Hopper as well

I am now sticking to 1080p/HDR gaming on the PC and i will leave 4k HDR RT to the consoles as i am not playing hunt the overpriced PC peripheral anymore. lol
