Depends where you pay electricity. Also consuming that much energy, for 3buck a day seems like a bad thing. To produce that electricity, we still pollute.

Well if a mining boom start again.... I am sorry guys is my fault , seems i picked some kind of a curse, i had planned to retire my gtx 770 just for mining to craze to start and delay it till the 770 died in the battle for fps and i was forced to buy a 1060 slightly over msrp ...had no choice. Now i had planned to update in early 2021 with a 3060 ti or non ti.......but it seems my curse is about to fire again 🙁

Cryptocurrency would be far less attractive and thus far less worth it if you couldn't use it for anything legit. That is, if there were no reputable ways to exchange it for either real money or services/products in legal places. Of course there would always be some small countries here and there that would try to profit from it, but it would still be more limited.
