This should have been called 3030 6gb.

It's impressive that it doesn't need additional power, but yea. Those specs are not that impressive for the price. This thing should cost around $110 at the most.

2304 "cuda cores" just mean 1152, because these new architectures have double floating point units per core. Unfortunately, game code can't use both efficiently so for the most part just one is in use. It's probably slower than a GTX 1070. Horribly underpowered GPU... and they ask almost $200 for this, lol.

A750 and 6600XT would smoke this for the same price of 200€. I can imagine only use case for this card would be if you need a card without additional power connector.

You're misunderstanding the ampere architecture layout. There are indeed that many cores (2304) but some of the cores are able to switch between FP32 (floating-point) and INT32 (integer/compute) instructions depending on the needs for the application. Since ampere doesn't raise clock frequency ability over turing, how do you think they achieved ~30% more performance with the 3080 ti over the 2080 ti? https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6a63yFc7AfS8mnt2NstgXZ-970-80.jpg With Turing, some of the cores in the SM could only execute INT32 instructions, but it was beneficial for hardware asynchronous compute capability since it meant dedicated hardware for compute and floating-point independently. https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdeveloper.nvidia.com%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2018%2F09%2Fimage11-601x1024.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=a47382bb9c2b968f577118cf723a2b5f24e5b47a26e842e246d75614889f0086&ipo=images

You pretty much proved my point perfectly ! +30% Not +100% Despite the number of FP32 doubling gen to gen.

nice replacement for 1030 but not price wise. should be 100$ card.

Only thing I proved is that you don't know what you're talking about when you say 1152 cores instead of 2304. Sometimes it's near 100% over turing depending if you use the rt and tensor cores as well as running 4k resolution, where ampere's extra core count really made a difference. Rtx 3050 has tensor and rt unlike the gtx 1600 series before it. Blame COVID, crypto craze, and current AI interest for heightened GPU prices.

It took me a moment to realize this is a new 3000 series video card, not 4000 series. I guess this will be the new 1050 for the next 7 years.

Have you seen the Arc incompatible games list? It is most games I like/love....Never promote that s*** as a gaming card.

The RT4600 was the perfect replacement for my gt1030, only cost £95 last year and only uses 53 watts max, so nividia once again not only late to the party but they came in a limo they want you to pay for. Lol

You mean RX 6400?....I didn't know they made that? But...."Trades blows with 3-years-old GTX 1650"

Can someone explain to me why this thing needs two fans?

Im sure there will be low profile single fan models.

Can someone explain to me why this thing needs anything else than low profile, single fan models? 😛
