What a pity. Options are great... Hope this doesn't slow adoption of the technology much 🙁

Guess that technology is not going accomplish anything anytime soon.

Not likely considering nvidia has already stated that monitors are coming from several manufacturors. this is a rumour with no legit source thats probably come about by someone misunderstanding the fact that asus have the only current monitor available with g-sync

Asus is my favourite monitor maker so that's cool with me. But I will only upgrade to a 27" monitor that can do 120hz+ @ a higher res than 1080p

They won't be offered over 1080p at 120Hz. Companies only make IPS/PLS panels above 1080p and they don't make those 120Hz, if they did they would demand one of your kidneys, your left lung, a piece of your liver and your first born child for it... along with $4000 USD.

Indeed, Nvidia confirmed the following manufactures for Q1 of 2014: Asus, BenQ, ViewSonic and Philips. Hardware info actually traveled all the way to Montreal to visit the official introduction event, and shared this fact on their website. (Dutch). //Edit: "Among the first planning to roll out the technology are ASUS, BenQ, Philips and ViewSonic." -Nvidia

what do you except, Asus have developp this technology in collaboration with Nvidia.. ofc they want bring back some profit.. What i think funny is most peoples here, will not buy this monitor ( whatever it is from Benq, Asus, Viewsonic ), and a Nvidia gpu for get it.. what do you think ?? you want to buy this 24-27" from Asus or Benq, with 120-144hz ( g-sync will not be available on other monitor anyway )-.. G-sync will and is limited to a certain type of TN monitor.. you will not find it on a 2600x1440 27", and you will not find it ona 30", the only type of monitor where it is usable is the 120-144hz gaming monitor 24 and 27" with a 1080p resolution..

I highly doubt that seeing they already said it was coming to 3+ manufacturers, Besides if this really works, Nvidia stands to make huge amount of money of this tech special when they start licensing it out.

It'll work just like vsync did with the 680 when it was released. 😀

From what I understand an upgrade kit will be released for current LightBoost capable 3D monitors that will allow them to use G-Sync. I'll probably just buy one when it comes out and hook it up to my VG248QE.

Not really interested in G-Sync. I'll just pick up a 2560x1440 120hz 27 inch monitor off of eBay for $299 for the holidays
