AOC should also be releasing their AG273UG at one point, also you may expect some 35" 21:9 displays at some point this year with 512 local dimming zones at 3440 x 1440 pixels en 200 Hz. Nvidia BFG (65in). monitors will ship late this year, likely the Christmas season.
http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/Dgosi8Mp41Q/hqdefault.jpg That is sweet, but price will be insane most likely. For now my pg348q is a keeper, love it.

Screens have nice clean design. Stands are horrid. 4k@144Hz + GSync + HDR1000 w/ 384 zones... Organ donations will be popular again. But that AOC, that's something... 1440p@200Hz + 512 zones... local dimming, but not HDR? Maybe there is some info missing since GSync is not mentioned either. @Hilbert Hagedoorn : It looks like there is some internet confusion about those AOC monitors, resolutions and refresh rate changes from site to site 🙂

I know right, i have a 55in 4k HDR in the living room, a 43in 4k hdr in the bedroom, and in my pc a GTX1080, with a 27in Hanns-G 1080p monitor that i bought way back in 2006. lol

27" is just too small for 4k. We will see if AUO improved in quality consistence because their previous models were hit and miss. Also rummored price for asus was around $2500 which is just way too much. I gave up on 35" 3440x1440@200Hz and went with Alienware AW3418DW just this week. According to latest informations AUO plans to start producing 3440x1440@200Hz screens sometime in Q3 which makes realistic availability for monitor in Q4 earliest. After year of constant delays I give up and I am expecting more delays and real availability to be rather sometime in 1h 2019. AUO can surprise, but i am not giving hope for that.

If only the scaling was better on windows...We wouldn't have this problem 4k on a 27" are "only" 163 ppi, like on Mac, they have huge resolutions on normal screens.

These monitors seem awesome but i sense price gouging on the horizon.

Scaling is fine for me in windows. Using 4k asus g-sync for my 2. Monitor. 27" with 4k is nice. Someone maybe like 800x600 for 27", but i don't.

There are few bugs and problems related to different resolutions with some programs, but it's not windows fault only.

And capable graphics ??? To take advantage of these monitors?

I would guess between 2000 and 2500 euro for Gsync 4K@144Hz with HDR@1000nits.

You mean capable cards or any game that's worth seeing in 4K?

As said 2560x1440 ress is more sensible for 27" as an owner of 2560 res monitor 27" the DPI is perfect for res and size. I would change my ASUS PG278Q for a 27" 144hz IPS G-sync HDR 384 zones lid display if it's around 1000-1200 euro . Although besides movies which I have a LG Oled for them HDR isn't very user friendly in Games at least for now so it's more like future proofing.

For gods sake, with Gpu prices approaching a thousand dollars, and monitors going the 1k route, it will only be a matter of time before Intel starts pricing their Cpu's ...oh wait never mind too late.

NVIDIA Confirms 144hz G-Sync 4k HDR monitors will launch this month but has yet to release a card capable of taking advantage of it so....sticking to my 4k 60hz screen which my 1080ti can barely handle.

High refresh rates are only useful on a bunch of "competitive" games, it's not like you're supposed to play the best looking game at 144fps 4k

Yeah I guess if you're solely talking about the latest AAA titles. All the games I'm currently playing I can easily push past 100fps at 4K - so to me the 1080ti is more than capable. Not to mention all the older titles, or the fact that 60hz on the desktop itself feels gross to me. And when the 1180Ti comes out and is capable of every title, I just drop it in. It's not like there is some drastically better technology coming in the next several years that's going to render 4K 144hz obsolete. This is the type of purchase I buy and I know I'm going to keep it for 5+ years. That being said, if the rumored prices of $3K is accurate and/or the fact that the zoned backlighting is only active in HDR.. then I won't be purchasing.

Does Witcher 3, Dishonored 2 or Diablo3 counts as “a bunch of competetive games”? Hell, even in turn based games like Civilization camera feels much smoother on higher refresh rates. Back on topic, Getting 4k@144hz HDR monitor would be sweet though. It should last for a good damn long time until 8K becomes mainstream.

I have to say, since I got a 144Hz screen I am suddenly able to see the difference between 144Hz and 60Hz, as well as noticing it's looking different even on 30Hz (especially with youtube videos until the buffer's up to par etc.) I'm still fairly confident in my 144Hz / 1440p screen, when 4K with all eye candy on 144Hz will be a thing with a single GPU, I'll be willing to switch over. Right now it's more like a specific case scenario, so I'll stay at "2K" and rather have more than 60fps in games. And I still like to play Overwatch on 144Hz with all the eye candy... I guess I'm a graphics whore that fuels the GPU industry without mining.
