Why would someone choose an air cooler over say an H100i for just a few $ extra ? Far too massive for my liking
You couldn't pay me to put a self contained watercooling system in my rig. Not with all of the horror stories I've heard about, and potential for leaks. I'd rather have a massive thing in my case (I'd paint the fans) and know that it'll work 100% of the time as long as the laws of physics still stand.

Well Im moving from a Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme over to an H100i next weekend all being well Other than early H100i batches having pump issues, I haven't heard any horror stories about closed water loops, nor leaks

If you put one more fan and your pc in your car you won't need an engine. j/k (although I have two 360 rads with one 230mm fan and two 120mm...) And if I didn't have watercooling I would be buying one of these.

I wouldn't go with a H100 now that the H105 is out. It's a far better unit.

Im getting it for £45 and it's about 2 weeks old - couldn't say no to that 🙂

Looks good, now tests, please. So I can decide if I have D14 for sale or it's just good enough to be used in next build.

Fair enough 🤓

This cooler may have issues on certain motherboards by blocking the first pci-e slot.
Another issue is the fact it blocks the first ram slot. I used to own the NH-D14. However, due it's sheer size, it prevented me from using my first ram slot. I was forced to use 12Gb ram instead of 16Gb. After several months of use, a part of the NH-D14 fan broke. I'm skeptical with regards to the quality of Noctua due to this reason and will never buy from them again. The cooler cost me £48 and after several months fell apart. I had to use super glue to glue the damaged fan back on. Now using the Thermaltake Frio OCK cooler. Just as good as if not better than the Noctua. Build quality is better too.

Well to be fair to Noctua, they are the best when it comes to customer service. You could of just emailed them and told them what happened and they would of sent you a replacement fan. I have dealt with a lot of companies over the years and Noctua is by far the most professional. Also, they do have a compatibility chart of which ram fits under the tower. I'm able to use all 4 ram slots on this board.

Should of done this at the time but couldn't be bothered. I've had plenty of faulty products in the past. The time it usually takes to return an item and wait for a replacement can take AGES! As for the compatibility chart, it is indeed handy but must of missed it. Too late since I have the large and bulky Corsair Vengeance ram which is FAR from being low profile. 🙂

True. However, you cannot buy G.Skill here in lovely Dubai. I did however own G.Skill several years ago when I was in the UK. Great ram.

I'm pretty sure if you face the fans towards each other you will get reduced flow and more noise. You will also ruin airflow in the case and pour hot air everywhere.
Nope, it works great. Have had my NH-D14 setup like this for quite a while now. At one point I even experimented with a duct and fan to extract the air from between the towers. That lowers it another couple degrees under full load.

Noctua and Phantek both have good heatsinks. Chose Phantek because the more variety in colors. But this sucker looks beastly.

GSKILL Ares heatsinks cool the modules very nicely and they sit low.

Those interested, there are quite some Reviews out by now. In all of them the D15 takes the lead in both Cooling and Noise Levels 🙂 Compared to the D14 it's more than a worthy upgrade.

Indeed, i'm using G.SKill ARES myself. Great memory so far and no worries about height issues with large coolers.

Just the hideous colours alone, which they refuse to ever change, are enough to prevent me from buying any of their products. I'm not usually one to care about appearance but Noctua go out of their way to make their colour schemes as revolting as possible.

The colours is what makes Noctua. If they change to black they are simply just another brand that makes Fans and Heatsinks. When you show people your case now, they instantly see you use premium gear. In a white case those fans look pretty cool.

Because the aesthetics of internal hardware matters so much.

All i care about in my rig is that it has to look clean (airflow related) with tidy cables. Color wise i can't care since it's sitting underneat my desk without a windows (Antec P280)
