Idk - I think it's pretty cool that they got Skyrim Remastered working on a Tegra.
Plus this just shows that Bethesda is onboard with Nintendo. Very excited for that at least. If it truly does run Tegra, then awesome. Tegra is not the fastest SOC, but man Nvidia sure does know how to make an awesome SOC. I kind of like the idea of getting rid of the optical drive though. Xbox really only uses it for dvd/bluray, and to install physical media. You can't even play a game until it's installed on the hard drive.

Interesting idea.

https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/10/20/nintendo-switch/ I'm kind of curious to know if it's Parker based or K1. I would assume Parker - also curious to know how the performance scales in tablet mode vs docked with power. I think it's a really neat idea regardless.

My guess based on that Nvidia blog is the gpu is based on Pascal architecture. Which would make sense for such a device considering battery-life.

Too many questions for me still. How long is battery life in portable mode? What are the specs of the hardware? Does this get the typical Wii U 3rd party flood of 4 month old titles at launch followed by sparse 3rd party support? Why did the launch video show Wii U games like Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, is it backward compatible or do they want you to buy the same game on a new platform? Nintendo just killed their handheld market or their console market. They merged two into one, thus admitting they can't keep up in either.

I just might buy this as I love Nintendo games but steered clear of Wii and Wii U

Now Nvidia can make it official! lol Curious to see if someone were to tweet or email them, what the SoC is built off of...

It does run on a Tegra chip, but it's a yet to be released one instead of the one being sold in current tablets.

Nvidia Shield rebranded.

Nvidia Shield rebranded.
Doubt it highly. The SoC is made by Nvidia, but other than that Nintendo designed it, will support it, and does not run Android as far as we know.

Nvidia Shield rebranded.
By that logic it's also a Nexus 7 rebranded.

Garbage. Nintendo continues it's journey into irrelevance.

Wondering if the screen is also touch capable like with the Wii U.

My own complaint I would have just from pictures, that bezel though. Would like the screen to be a little bigger, but I am sure it's fine once it's in my hands. 😀

So basically a tablet with a docking station. My biggest concern is the portability factor. I like the Vita / 3DS but that things looks almost like a Wii U gamepad. For my standards that's a bit too bulky (and potentially too fragile) to enjoy the portable aspect of it.

i'm always amaze on a techbased site, how some users can be against new idea just because it's out of their habits. You can have question about hardware or lineup but you can't admit that the concept is right in the times when mobility and smart device are everywhere.

quite an interesting device I think .. I'm wondering if the Dock contains an more powerful GPU for gaming on tv at higher rez than the GPU in handle held mode ? quite like the idea of multi local play has to be more fun with your friends/family all together in the same room having human contact rather than sitting in a room shouting at people through a mic.
