...in specific scenarios.

Undying
Even if its only raytracing scenarios thats impressive.
Imagine 3060 beating 2080super when raytracing is enabled, its gonna be funny.

@sverek Oh, Lord. Have mercy on this poor soul.
Now, such increase in raw compute power?
Wouldn't be quantum processors to leapfrog GPU parallelism computing in very next future?

And 70% more expensive.

Welcome to 3080 ti at 2200 $ rofl..... unless AMD pulls something truly amazing performance/price wise out of their dung-hole 😉
Also, i feel it's a moot point at present, games will soon need to catch up to GPU performance to warrant a purchase of a possible upgrade (Unless you are one the 1%'s who play in 4K) 😉

Well, Nvidia is a stable performer at least. 🙄
Titan xp< titan v< titan rtx with same perf diff.

30% more leather jacket included this time?

As others have stated, this can be interpreted in a wide variety of ways. Personally, I think this will be relevant only for some HPC scenarios. As for standard consumer stuff, NVIDIA will most likely never give us 70% performance increase. Probably it will be the usual 25-30% improvement for an insane price. Hence, why we need AMD to catch up with RDNA 2 asap.

I want an affordable 3070 so I can keep it for like 5 years or so 😀 ...

I think there is a misunderstanding on this news post.
From what I understand is that the performance increase of 70~75% is what they expect for the whole Super-Computer machine considering upgrading all its installed GPUs. This value isn't meant to specify the core performance of one GPU.
