I totally read it as "Grey Sasha". Send help.

Even if its only raytracing scenarios thats impressive. Imagine 3060 beating 2080super when raytracing is enabled, its gonna be funny.

@sverek Oh, Lord. Have mercy on this poor soul. Now, such increase in raw compute power? Wouldn't be quantum processors to leapfrog GPU parallelism computing in very next future?

And 70% more expensive.

Welcome to 3080 ti at 2200 $ rofl..... unless AMD pulls something truly amazing performance/price wise out of their dung-hole 😉 Also, i feel it's a moot point at present, games will soon need to catch up to GPU performance to warrant a purchase of a possible upgrade (Unless you are one the 1%'s who play in 4K) 😉

Well, Nvidia is a stable performer at least. 🙄 Titan xp< titan v< titan rtx with same perf diff.

30% more leather jacket included this time?

As others have stated, this can be interpreted in a wide variety of ways. Personally, I think this will be relevant only for some HPC scenarios. As for standard consumer stuff, NVIDIA will most likely never give us 70% performance increase. Probably it will be the usual 25-30% improvement for an insane price. Hence, why we need AMD to catch up with RDNA 2 asap.

Leather jacket with real time multidirectional reflections.

Of course only in specific scenarios. GPU's are specialist processors that are very good at executing code that is suited for their form of massively parallel computing. They suck at code with large amounts of branching for instance. That's why these sorts of super computers are built-up from both general purpose CPU's and GPU's. That way you can divide the work to be done up in chunks that can be distributed to the computing architecture that is best suited for its execution.

Wrong for VR. In many of the most interesting VR applications even 2080Ti owners are still struggling with poor frame-rates and it falls back to that frame interpolation thing when it goes under 80/90FPS which is a lot of the time. For those of us with much lesser models like 1070 this happens almost always. eg. I would only be getting 30-50fps at most. And my Rift CV1 headset is lowest resolution of the modern ones which are even tougher in the GPU with high resolutions to render. There is also stupid CPU bottlenecks too but that's a different problem (crappy Unity physics)

This reply to myself was a mistake - but there doesn't seem to be any DELETE POST option on this forum.. WTF?!?

I have a good feeling 3060 might be enough for me for my 1080p 60Hz needs. Now, I just hope the bloody thing won't cost 500 euros.

it does, its on the same strip as "report, like, quote, reply"

I don't plan to spend anything more than 500EUR (Unless the product is REALLY exceptional, which is rare nowadays) on a GPU. Theoretically for 1440p gaming mid-range of the next gen should be ideal. Hell, my current 5700xt is fantastic for what it costs. And then again I mainly play older games, so for my needs it's over the top right now. Might skip next generation altogether.

I want an affordable 3070 so I can keep it for like 5 years or so 😀 ...

I think there is a misunderstanding on this news post. From what I understand is that the performance increase of 70~75% is what they expect for the whole Super-Computer machine considering upgrading all its installed GPUs. This value isn't meant to specify the core performance of one GPU.

Not for me... all that is on that strip is "Edit, Report, Quote, Reply". Where is the Delete Post option supposed to be?
