Sounds awesome. But as always, every great idea takes time to come to fruition. Cant find any info when this will start to benefit us on a practical level. What we looking at, 3, 5, 10 years?

Incredible, Is this the tech for 2030? Looking forward to it !

Okay, our lads seem to be doing something useful, who would have believed that.

they did it in small scale they will have to test farther and how much this cost to implement , and if everything goes well then start implementing it on the production ....so is safe to say all the nodes that are already underway 3nm from tsmc etc possibly the next node etc is too late to implement ....if this is viable i assume we are looking at a 10 year ballpark .

That is a big reduction. I hope this enters mass production sooner than later.

Maybe that'll be the answer for the recent uptick in energy consumption for the higher end cards.

I'm looking for tech that kills off mining and scalpers...

A better title "Moore's law is broken!" or more Buzzfeedy... "Why Moore's law doesn't matter anymore"

So guns and knifes ? Ok i kid obviously you did not meant it literally , well the only way to get the miners of gpus is either the price of eth and alt coins to get low enough or finally to get assics that leave gpus in smokes but alas eth takes pride on being asics resistant 🙁 . Sculpers well that's a whole other matter.

It must be Christmas fools day 😉 This is really cool, cant wait to see how it develops and what else it can transform. It equates to having many more states on a transistors input AND output, modifiable on the fly, giving completely new methods of processing.. The thresholds on each transistor will need to be verified to find how much they differ between transistors, and with heat, EM field strength, age, ... This will determine how many states/levels they can be trusted to accept and maintain. And how long a life they have, they probably wont be as stable as current transistors, especially if pushed to represent a high number of states. Oh, and they can perform stateless analogue functions too. Fun stuff!

its not likely to reduce transistors in gpu's and cpu's by this much at all.

Yeah that was probably best case.

Most intresting. Could be great thing consider industries, current path which is bigger, more wattage and there for more heat, to increase performance. I have little intrested in 200+ watt cpu and 200+ watt gpus. and we already shattered that wattage. mid range stuff is already past that

If this is viable and the tech war between amd / intel /nvidia still raging we might not see reduction to transistors at all just implement it and go balls to wall on performance gain ! I know that's a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long shot prediction but i am a dreamer ! :P
