Well i am not sure about their pricing they have to fit it between the 5500xt and 5700 too close to the 5700 will be doa to close to the 5500xt it will kill the 5500xt , and the 6gb making me want to say "et toi Brute?!" If they reduce the 5500xt price so the 5600xt can come at 250 they will be good bang for buck ..we will know soon !

6GB should be enough for 1080p. 4GB is too little these days for a new card, but 6GB ought to be enough in the vast majority of cases as long as it's used for FullHD. Of course 8GB is better, but whether there's any difference in practice is a different thing. Personally, I'd of course feel iffy downgrading from 8GB to 6GB.

well yeah but considering that 580/590/1060/1650s / 5500x /1660 are already great 1080p performers ... the 5600xt can be potentially an entry 1440p card ... 6gb most likely is enough now ...will it be in a year or two ? that's my concern edit: forgot to add the quote :P

Its a high refresh rate 1080p card. There a quite few games already using 6gb vram and 1440p is already a concern.

It is a pure 1440p card with enough power. The reason is you need to drop couple of settings for not touching vram limit. The same goes for 2060rtx. These are the best, cheapest 1440p performers if you won't be near 6gb ceiling.

A 5600XT might be my next purchase from rx480 8GB, which mostly works at 1440p just fine (don't need ultra settings in everything)

@Kaleid I'm in the same boat, as I have to play all my games which I've bought in the past, and not having the latest and the greatest is no concern for me. But later this year I'll may upgrade my monitor to 1440p@ 95 Hz or higher. Not so much as for gaming, as in an upgrade in screen estate and overall visual quality. So maybe later those 6 GB VRAM can be a reason to go for a second hand Vega 56. For me the heat and noise plus power consumption are real factors to consider when I buy a GPU.

That sounds like a good plan. I'm at 144hz and there's no way I'd go back to 60hz. The difference is also visible in windows when scrolling.

My 580 can barely cope up with 1080 75hz in most newer games using higher settings. 1440p, 144hz and 480 is just a no go. Basically your not even using your monitor unless playing mobas. Scrolling in windows makes no difference.

Not sure which games you are playing, but currently I'm about 65-80fps in Batman Arkham Knight. No AA, but everything else at max. And yes it does make a difference, the text is blurry when scrolling at 60hz. Easy to try. A lot of people think that everything needs to be at max for it to look good, but there are settings that change so little that in a "blind" test most would not recognize the difference.

well when i say a 1080p card or a 1440p or 4k i think the target is 60 fps ofcourse 120 hz 1080p it is more demanding than 1440 60hz ! 1440p has 70% more pixels than 1080p so 60fps 1440p is lighter than 120hz 1080p ! ....hell 240hz 1080p is equal to 60hz 4k !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! although if you are gunning for such thing you do gunning for a stronger cpu ...obviously this category of cards are kind out of the question ! Now define Barely ...Maxed out + 8xAA ? maxed out no AA ? everything on ultra most people that are shopping on the mid range will not mind tweaking settings trading minor eye candy to boost their fps often to 80-100% extra performance, you can lower textures to high from ultra close AA especially in an action game gain a huge boost on fps while you get perceptually minor to no eye candy hit ! That said i do not blame or criticize people that will not accept to play from anything else than maxed out ! Power to em if i could afford to update my rig so often to be able to do that and gunning for the 1000+ range cards etc ... most likely i would too ...but since i am gunning around 200-300 usd/euro parts i have my demands set accordingly :P
