CPC_RedDawn:

Anyone else think like these new X570 boards are totally pointless? What do they offer over older X370 or X470 board... heck even some B450 boards. Other than PCIE4? They have insanely over the top VRM's capable of delivering so much power that simply is not needed for 7nm Ryzen and literally no one can overclock Ryzen past 4.4GHz all core, making the new boards totally useless when you think about it. If Ryzen won't go past 4.4GHz then why do you even need such high power VRM's when you can't even use them? My x370 Crosshair VI Hero runs my 3900X like a champ and the chip reaches 4.65GHz quite a few cores and threads with stock settings. PCIE4 makes no sense either unless you want to run the new M.2 drives for content creation. They just seem a bit... meh. But maybe thats because I already have a good first gen board.
x570 boards make sense when you look at the mid-range boards rather than the high end.

getting ridiculous with these mb's prices, well they can charge £1800 for 2080ti then £600 will sound cheap, I'm getting it now 😀

always thought "godlike" name msi using is stupid still is, if it was "godlike" it would be white and not have to be called "godlike":D
If this board was really "Godlike" it would be able to push every core stable over 5Ghz without any voltage at all, lol.

The Intel-based MSI Z390 GODLIKE can basically do that...

Genuine rant with curious questions, enlighten me here: A bit annoyed with these X570 motherboards, really. Extremely expensive and most people wont ever use all the add-on option. I usually look at ROG / MEG / upper echelon or equivalent options, but this time I'll go for mid tier because the options are just over the top. In my opinion, why would we need all the PCI-e lanes/slots and USB connections if we're going to stuff the motherboard full of options that would use a high bandwith connection? Give me a powerfull, rigid ( even slightly overbuild ^^ ) board with lots of connection options, but leave off the extra controllers, RGB, 10+ fanheaders and 6+ Sata connections. Who really needs that much fans, Sata drives, RGB strips, 5+Gbit Ethernet? Aren't we better off buying those as an add in card and replace them with something more modern as the time comes? Or are we THAT quick to switch motherboards these days? Also, We used to have heatpipes going from the South/northbridge to the VRM's like... 15-10 years ago? Why not apply that again and lose the fan? Fans give out over time :/. This rant might seem to have a ' this is dumb' athmosphere, but that is not my goal. I'm really curious who actually can justify these boards and why do they get all the attention? I'm genuinly looking for educated answers here ( or just a... 'because I can', is fine too ^^ )
