Still trying to see how you guys are saying this is underwhelming?!?! Look at this card compared to the 780Ti! It's quantum leaps faster. Great review as always boss.

I think the issue is that it's barely faster than the ref. card and everyone was expecting a 2ghz OC out of the vendor cards. At least the slightly better performance costs less money 🤓.

No one was "shouting" 2.5Ghz it was 2.2Ghz. And until AMD releases something better they are loosing. Nvidia is grabbing more market share as I type and AMD showed off a mid-tier card that, "brings console quality graphics to PC." Their words not mine. I hope Vega is a great card and faster than 1080 but if they drag their feet too long in this Nvidia will release big Pascal first and it will be anoth lack luster launch like Fiji.

The issue here is Nvidia clocked the Maxwell cards low from the start to get certain TDP figures and that left a lot of headroom to overclock. Pascal is more energy efficient so they clocked them higher reference.

The full size GK110 was top dog only two years ago and now a 104 based card is twice as fast. That is a bit ridiculous and people are complaining.

I can agree with that. But for now this is the top-tier card with the best performance out of the box. How log do you think before we see big Pascal (GP102/100)

I'm thinking nVidia is going to squeeze this out for at least a few months unless AMD makes them change their plans.

Apparently a 7870. The fandom is strong in that post. They do say love is blind though. The only people I can see being honestly underwhelmed are 980Ti owners and that's it.

No this card is a full custom PCB. Honestly it looks like a 980 Gaming PCB. I'm curious is they are the same. AKA not a founders edition.

Looks like it's doing a damn good job at it for one card........if you ask me. Not sure where he's coming from. I just do not agree with their attempt at showing a card on air that is 2.2ghz like it is the normal OC'd operating frequency for all to come.

Doom max at DSR 1620p, ok it got better now, RoTR 1440p+ with SSAA NZA3 1620p with SSAA Rally with that adv fog at 1620p Dying light with nv pcss at 1620p Even something older like UT3 with forced 8xmsaa and hbao in driver at dsr 1620p etc by all min 60fps and vsync, but mostly I have to lower DSR then, dsr 1620p has ideal FOV by native 1080p display 😀

Microsoft can't do it do you honestly think a company in the red that can't release a product on a fixed schedule can push PC gaming forward? He is talking about bringing console level content to PC. You will never get rid of console exclusive games as Sony and Microsoft both have in-house studios that make them to sell the console. This will not change. unfortionally the OC isn't anything near the 2.2 mark I had hoped for, also the boost doesn't seem to be too stable. Let's hope amd forces nvidia prices to go down. This card is not worth 800€. I got 2 980s for 1100€ 2 years ago. You do get the same performance ( little less) than that in 1 card for 37.5% cheaper, but in 2 years you would expect a better price/performance ratio....

Yes, I was hoping well over 2.1-2-2ghz+ mark due to the extra pci-e connector for extra power delivery but NVidia like Mr. Hilbert had said in the review of this card, all sorts of limiters/protection,etc were kicking in. So, you mean to tell me that the extra pci-e connector was all for nothing??? The stock reference design cooler can overclock just as much. It will be very interesting once someone has figured out the bios tweaking of theses cards and make full use of the extra vrm phase/power delivery to the fullest. I am really looking into the zotac one, even though I never owned the zotac one before. Really looking into the amp extreme edition and the gigabyte windforce3 wanna be version. Let the bios tweaking of theses cards begin, would love to see results in the future, theses pascal is going to be great overtime, immature drivers at most at this point(well get better overtime), bios tweaking,etc. Just gave my dad my prior system I had before along with the 2 gtx 970's @ 1566, taking the old gtx 690 I had given him in the past as a replacement until I get 2 gtx 1080's/or possibly 2 1070's, the card, despite the age of the card, performs very well even though only 2gb vram limit, runs the new doom(2016) @ almost maxed out settings @ 2560X1600 resolution, runs very fast and looks great.
