wow really? were you you live? i gather not in the US Anyway I gathering there isnt gona much of difference between this and this MSI Gaming version. or for that mater the EVGA FTW when ever it released performance wise. Still might stick with EVGA due to 3 year warranty vs 2 year from MSI?
The land of dropbears. I'd go with EVGA because all my previous cards were EVGA xD I've never had an MSI card :T

Speaking of TR I get ~128fps at same settings @1080p and factory oc 1420mhz, chew on that Pascal GP104. Only full one aka 1080gtx pulls ahead 5fps 😀

Idk, Tj. Looks like TR is only game you play and benchmark. If you waited little more you could get that GP104 instead of that GM200 and stop being so jealous. 1070 will pulll ahead every new game.

lol.. TJ will always defend what he has to the very end, even when it was a 780 and trailing badly behind midrange cards. And ROTR is not the standard bearer of DX12 titles, its an Nvidia sponsored title that doesnt take as much advantage of low level hardware capabilities of GPUs as others may do. Sadly, it doesnt look too good for Maxwell over next 12 months. It will continue to falter as time goes by with DX12/Vulkan titles. It would be one hell of a job for Nvidia to keep optimizing drivers for Maxwell in DX12/Vulkan titles outside of NV sponsored games, so expect the gradual Kepler-ization of Maxwell as time goes by.

980 TI is still a good card, but after 6 months will not be. 🙂 Because will not be optimised for new games,as always.

Yawn

The 980ti is doing well in new games, it will do just as well if not better in newer games. Devs are getting better (not as lazy) when it comes to porting games over to non GCN hardware, and don't think there are any games on the horizon that are doing anything new tech wise. It will rarely beat a 1070, but it's also cheaper than a 1070.

Overclocked 980 ti matches overclocked 1070. Sure there will be some games where 1070 will lead on 980 ti, but what gives it's new tech and has some improvements.

Time will tell if the 1070 will pull ahead in dx12 games, but even if it does I doubt it'll be more than ~+5%. It'll be a negligible difference during the practical lifetime of both cards.

Not to mention, the 980ti won't even be an option to buy soon enough anyways. It will remain a great card for years, even with it slowly losing ground to newer tech. But it's old tech now and anyone not buying the 1070 at the same price or less may regret that down the road. That one narcissistic user has (for years) been pimping how incredible his current GPU is (whatever it may be) and always letting us know how it compares to everything else on the market. No matter what gear you have, it's probably really not that great and over-priced compared to his amazing GPU. *snore* Anyways, these 1060's look like really good cards for the money.

I just got this card for 289$ on newegg. What an awesome price! It's ridiculous to think I paid over 500$ for my GTX 680 when it came out.
