Will skip Gen 5 M.2 drives until they make in normal size without VGA cooler on it. IMHO point of M.2 was small form factor with fast data rate, what Gen 3, and Gen 4 delivers in full for everyday use.

Well at this point only few people care for sequencial performance.... And if you stand and wonder if it will make your workload faster ...it won't for the cases you really need such sequencial speed you are well aware of it :P

Directstorage will load faster on gen5 so thats a good enough reason for me to get one for my main drive.

bet budget gen4 drives with better nand and controllers will run circles around early gen5 based on memory that was developed for now.

When actually there is more than a demo and a couple of games that using it I will re-evaluate ,so in few years and with the prices overtime going down on storage.... I will see what I can buy and if it is even worth it to splash the extra cash at the time .... Who ever paid for spanking new gen4 drives when direct storage was near realease they paid at least 2x in price and direct storage is not here not to mention if loading times are like 0.9~1 sec instead of 1.2 is already not worth it !
