About time, will test X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC this evening.

Got it several days ago for my x370...The 1.0.0.2a AGESA bios completely eliminates the performance slowdowns I saw with 1.0.0.1a (which included the microcode, too) relative to the Spectre2 variant microcode. I wrote it up in more detail in the AMD mobo & cpu forum here.

This may be another series of updates. X470 got 1.0.0.2a in middle of April. And now there is new set of BIOSes. Edit: Notes to my MB reads: Description - Improved PCIe RAID card compatibility. - Improved PCIe M.2 compatibility. - Improved Intel Wifi compatibility when using Raven CPU.

I bought the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC, is one of the very few boards with 8 SATA ports which I need. Also one of the only MBs that lists my Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 16GB sticks of memory as supported. Though is only lists as for 2x 16GB sticks.... will see how it likes 4 of them soon enough! I'm feeling pretty confident ^^

I have same. BIOS sux. It is worst BIOS I have seen from MSI. Secondly, their other "Gaming Pro Carbons" used to have external clock gen for OC. Not this one. Thir "Memoty Try It!" feature tries some dumb timings which are so high that memory will not boot. Tighter manual timings work just fine. And even with that newest BIOS there is still that nasty bug which forced me to use XFR2. Bug does: If you have manually set up clock + voltage for CPU cores, it sometimes decides that your multiplier is on auto and XFR2 is enabled. But because it does not reset your Core voltage, you are in for crash. And this setting lasts till you go to BIOS and change your multiplier to something else and then back to your desired one. 2700X still plays games in awesome way even without having all cores on 4.2GHz, but I really dislike that MSI puts CPU up to 1.5V for single threaded boost. And they have some weird voodoo in memory timings. If you aim for 1T, you may have to enable geardown and powerdown. And worst is that some "auto" values are not equal to manually setting same. So while auto does enable something, it will behave differently if you select manually "Enabled". Well, maybe worst is that they do not gray out options which are disabled as consequence of you using something that overrides it. So you can spend hours trying to tweak value which has no effect on anything as it is not used.

That is shameful, makes it sound like an early engineering BIOS the devs are testing that is pre Beta. I was expecting better from MSI I really appreciate the tips, might save me a good deal of frustration Sort of reminds me of the time I upgraded from my X5650 early Engineering Sample CPU to an X5680... I spent Ages messing with with setting to get my old OC working with Good memory speeds. Much frustration later I found out the retail chips were locked to 160MHz max where the old X5650 could go to 2600MHz on the RAM I have, was no obvious in the BIOS what was going on lol Perhaps with semi stock settings mine will boost on all cores naturally as I have a rather overkill custom loop for the CPU while they hopefully sort out a decent BIOS? LOL -_-""" for a fairly high end new motherboard. (most expensive I have ever bought anyways)
