I'm also waiting for AMD's 390x/Fury card response before i make my decision, i had an MSI Gaming 970 and it had a very quiet cooler even though it had coil whine. Hoping these new cards from both companies are up to par and have no coil whine this time. I'll be gaming @ 1080p but still want the best GPU as i may use it when i upgrade to 1440p later this year or next year as well.. Bit disappointed if the fastest AMD card only has 4GB HBM but not a lot i can do about it.

not sure getting lighting edition worth the money or not (its like extra 150usd in my local store for gtx780) lighting 3fans abit different compared to other 3fans card u can set different speed for middle and left-right fan component wise, it should similar rest msi non-reference card imo msi should cherry-pick lighting series chip... gtx780 lighting seems nope...
Not sure how they do on the nvidia side but with their 290x cards were definitely something special. They were also the only ones with samsung ram which alone deserved a small bump in price

Today I have a MSI GTX770 Lightning, and I am for sure interested in GTX980Ti Lightning! Can confirm, that the colors are Yellow and Black. Red and Black is for the Gaming series. Any news on price for the Lightning version?

Whoever already owns a good NV card (6xx, 7xx), be advised to skip series 9xx. With the window$ 10 and it's DX12 sitting just around the corner, the only logical "action" is to wait for the next series. All new models will, of course, work "with" or "within" the DX12 GUI, but most of the advanced new features wont be available for the DX11 cards...

Really? Is that a fact? lol Finally a card worth buying! MSI does a great job redesigning and improving on the reference model with the Lightning series. I wonder if they will give it 2 x 8-pin power connectors like they did on my GTX580's.

I don't see any reason for LOLs here, but if someone has a LOM (lots of money) and is willing to spend it on a graph. card, then why not - there are worse investments than buying yourself yet another DX11 card at the moment...

Wonder what the exhaust fan looks like. EDIT: NVM, found out what it is about.
Besides the revered GAMING series, MSI are also introducing two reference models featuring exhaust thermal design. The MSI GTX 980 Ti 6GD5 will be available immediately, shortly followed by the MSI GTX 980 Ti 6GD5 V1, which comes equipped with an all new premium silver shroud and Military Class 4 Components for durable, solid performance.

Yeah, I got the Radeon 7970 Lightning. Still a pretty solid card, but I'm looking to switch to NV.
