What about non-Windows-native updater tools, like WSUS offline? Are their functionality also crippled?

Pffft. I'll just keep using the update packs, as im doing since 2010..

Also I saw a Jayztwocents video where I saw him try to install Windows 8.1 on a Kaby Lake system and he got a few BSODs during the instillation process but he got it working though. He said that it wasn't officially supported by MS. So i'm not too surprised by this move by MS.

Yes i can confirm this ****!
I was running my new rig without any problem when this **** started to pop up! Really disappointed with MS crap. I can understand not providing optimization patches to PCs with newer CPUs but blocking updates to people who paid for their products just because they want to force them to move to W10 is just too much!!!
But who knows, maybe i will really move from W7... to Linux!
**** you MS!!!
P.S. Hilbert do you think you can add a compatibility rate/score for how products work under Linux??? I know this is too much to ask but the way things are going i really have to consider other alternatives...
Undying
Ah, W7 users are so salty. 😀
Update the damn thing already.

i don't know about virtualbox, but in vmware windows update still works fine, even if it's blocked on the host.

Apparently there are some workarounds. Google turned up this one which seems to work, but I recommend a backup in case you want to revert back.
Installing Win updates on Win 7 or 8.1 computers with Kaby Lake or Ryzen CPUs

Says someone still running 7 because something doesnt work on 10.. Lol
Once the gui isnt looking like the os is 10y old, and I can use an admin account without being asked 1000 times to confirm something when working on it, and audio with dedicated card works, ill go back to 10..
