I've yet to see an actual analysis of why they bought GH. All you see are the platitudes that come out of MS ("MS wants to improve developer relations blah blah") parroted throughout all media outlets world-wide. Nobody has yet given an actually believable explanation of the buyout? For people using the service, most probably nothing will change. Or only minor things will change (like integration with MS services and such.) But still, seriously, no real explanation as to why they've bought it. Is GitHub's income really that high that MS wants it? If that were the case, GH wouldn't have sold to begin with.

+1 Agree too. But if GH is/was valued at ~$2.5b in 2017 afaik and was sold for $7.5b... Well, then that's a significantly good business deal from the owners of GH I would say. Even if it's in MS stock.
