Wow! Damn it... Yersterday, for first time since I had DX4 @100Mhz ( OK, OK my E6600 CPU did it, too, on XP ) my PC was truly slow, like when we had 3-4 programs open and was crawling back then. Meanwhile, I only had a Torrent downloading, a game ( alt tab ) and browser open. Never seen my PC crawling and it was truly disturbing. Thought a virus or something since I don't use any antivirus. Still couldn't find anything. Process explorer was reporting less than 9% overall CPU usage. No culprit on the horizon. After I did the reboot, it stack at loading screen. Second reboot all went fine. I hope this will take care the situation, but Microsoft mentioned: "Customers that download updates directly from Windows Update (Home and consumer devices) or Windows Update for Business are not impacted. " What exactly does it mean? Is my PC affected? I use the Pro version... Anyway, fingers crossed.

Well if you haven't experienced boot issues probably you are not affected as well.

This is just one of the reasons I ditched Windows, in addition to spyware/adware that comes pre-installed...

Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) were only affected.

MS should ask AMD: they mastered the fine art of "a hotfix for a fix that brokes something". :D

The more things change the more they stay the same.

When did you decide to do that? Seems like a recent decision....though it's always curious why closet users (surely you're still playing your games) need to blurt out why software upsets them.

Well Done Microsoft

I never experienced a single BSOD on Win 7. Ever. I've never experienced one on Win 10 either.....

How does a BSOD looks like on Win7/8/10? Is it still blue? 😕 😱

Omw! Not again! If my pc get this update, then it will be the 3de time for me to get a bsod after updat. What is wrong with the guys at Microsoft, don't they check their work? I so badly wish there were an alternative OS that had the support Microsoft have. I will switch in a blink of an eye.

Well that kind is still present yes. But for the ones on after update, it can be a few different ways. I had boot loop issues, actual bsod and a "no boot device detected" issue before after updates. I only once got to recover from the one issue without a format.

I've been a linux user for 15+ years, but always had a Windows home computer for games. Windows 10 was the last straw for me... I still play games, since Steam works on Ubuntu as well. Of course, the number of games supported is not very big. Recently I installed Outlast, and it runs pretty good. I just decided it's time to say goodbye to windows spyware/adware as well as 99% of viruses out there

That is funny... because the shiit that Canonical did by including Amazon buying suggestions in the middle of desktop searches, is far beyond anything ever seen on any other OS, windows including. Because of this I will never ever touch Ubuntu

Oh right... I was surprised to see that, but it was easy to turn off. Unlike in Windows 10 where you have to download 3rd party tools to be able to turn off all the spyware... not to mention jumping through hoops to turn off automatic update. I had a work laptop overheat and damage the battery because Windows decided to boot on it's own at 5AM in the morning, to apply updates. However, I had a boot password set up, so it just stayed there in my bag, asking for password and cpu at 100% for 2.5 hours.... amazing experience

Yes and Windows 10 now has a nice sad emoticon too with "oopsy daisy" text 😀

The last time I had a BSOD was under Windows 8.1 when I upgraded my desktop from 16 to 32GB of RAM because of having 4 RAM chips installed on my board I needed to increase the voltage of the RAM due to it being unstable because of the 2 extra chips.

Windows 8/8.1 has the same BOSD as Windows 10 with the frown based emoticon.

Damn Dude that sucks. I had a similar issue where I put my laptop into hibernation mode and it turned it self on to install updates lucky for me I didn't have in a bag when it was warm on the bottom after a few hrs of being on.
