It be nice if Microsoft would indicate the folder(s) in question and just not pull the update indicating user files are being deleted during update!!

Maddness
I was holding out before updating because of the Broadwell-E and KB4100347 update. Now that I sorted that, I was going to update. looks like holding out was a good thing.

I was wondering which files and from where, I looked on microsoft.com;
Didn't happen to me on 2 PC's I've updated... but I'm going to hold off on updating the 3rd just in case.

Everything went smooth here on two PC's. Although Ccleaner uninstalled itself saying it wasn't compatable with this version of windows.

I know this is a stupid thing to say but it really does make me wonder if they really do test before pushing live builds to the general public.

This only affects people that use One Drive though, which most likely people use it unknowingly. I don't use it anyways, so didn't have any issues with it.

ever since my first SSD
c:\>MKLINK d:\users c:\users (syntax maybe incorrect, been awhile) has saved me a lot of hassle w/clean installs. saves all docs, pics, downloads and music along with any (config) info that could be anywhere in appdata, saved games or whatever.
keep steam there too - because i am silly keeping my ssd at 50%.

While I updated my PC without any issue at all I have to say that MS is utter garbage the last few years.
They had the brilliant idea to fire all the professional QA team and experiment their crap beta software on people's machines.
All this for sort term profits.
Same shit happens with all Windows 10 updates lately. There are far too many bugs.
They knew this bug before they stupidly decided to deploy this crap on our PCs and they also skipped the Release Preview Ring.
Task Manager CPU usage is also broken and they also knew it.
Meanwhile Dona Sarkar was busy taking selfies for her Twitter account.
Nuttela belongs in a jar on a super-market shelve and not on MS CEO chair.
I won't even talk about their non-existent design team and their utter crap unfinished File Explorer "dark mode".

Good thing I always keep my important stuff on a separate drive than the system SSD (in addition to backing it up). That said, it's unacceptable that they pushed out an update with so many severe issues as this one.
