XP-200:

ell the game picked high for me and looks just stunning, just did my first solo flight in a Cessna, and it even saw my Hotas X and everything was set by default, no need to custom pick anything, cracking fun..
Just flew a Boeing from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Heathrow Airport, I still cannot believe how good that looks. And um yea .. I crashed it. So if your airport is still on fire ...sorreeeh.

Well that explains the loud bang and the smoke off in the distance. lol

Quicks:

2080TI cant even hit 60fps on 1080p? What the hell, the game do not even look that good... Plain an simple crappy programming.
The clouds look very nice to be fair. Extremely fluffy.

I disagree, 30fps looks bad. Also, any way to get VRAM usage with VII since it's 16GB?

Microsoft Store , 128 GB , will pass on the free pass .

MS really miscalculated the demand for this one. They should have passed off the files to Steam to be downloaded by Steam users who purchased the game that way. I normally get 1GB+/minute downloads. But not this game, 5 hours in and have only 50GiB downloaded... But at least it's picked up speed recently, the first hour only got 2GiB....

I’m an hour into downloading and I’ve got 16gb done so far.

I have a question I hope someone can answer: does this game cache the stuff it gets from the cloud and save it between sessions? If I were to fly the same route regularly, could I expect performance to be about the same every time, or would it be better after the initial run?

DX11 really? They ware pushing dx12 ultimate not long ago and their game is running on dx11 what a joke.

I really dont understand any of these fps you are getting I get 30fps on ultra on 4k on a 1080ti and Ive been in the alpha since Jan and know people with 2080tis that get 50fps you've got other issues on that bench pc Hilbert Edit: Didnt see your others specs. Id be interested to see cpu scaling test on it as well. Im pretty sure you'd do much better with 3900-3950x and also increasing the ram to 3600-3800mhz to see how much that improves.

Strange Times:

pretty bad for google earth official game
I wish it was. They use Microsoft's Bing, which has less stellar data. So much more would've been possible with Google's data (including street view to get details on the ground down for low flight), especially in less "famous" areas around the world. Or if Bing would catch up with Google.

It might perform slightly better in DX12 mode, but wait Microsoft did not implemented it.. lmao

Because the engine its built on is actually the same engine as FSX. You're lucky it wasnt DirectX 10 preview 😛 Looks great though https://i.imgur.com/K0lmumu.jpg

Ok, I was scared after this review. But it wasn't bad at all. The install was horrible, but now that I am in game it's fine. It detected my system as "High End" I went with their recommendations for that system. i7 6850k, 980Ti, 32GB ram. With their recommended high settings I was getting 60fps mostly during the flight training missions. I know that in other areas it will get worse. But all in all that is pretty good so far. It was about 40% cpu usage when I would think to look and 100% gpu usage.

Bing still has aerial images taken from planes at multiple angles for quite a few well markets which are much better than any public satellite data google or microsoft could pay for. Pretty sure that is the base of the game plus the same lansat data google uses. Sim looks great, it's also a really unoptimized game maybe that promised 10 years of updates will fix that. Still better than FSX

I got scolded for landing the plane in the first training mission 😀
