Interesting, the fact that these exist was pretty much leaked thanks to the 2nd most famous Linus, but I didn't expect them to hit the retail market so soon. When I build a DDR5 system 48GB sounds good, 64 would likely be overkill for my uses.

2x16gb kit is still enough for my needs.

640k ought to be enough for anybody.

Interesting, this is the first time I've seen a break from modules doubling in size, moving on from 1GB initially. However these are too large for most peoples needs, 2x24GB = 48GB, not much call for that. 2x12GB might fare better as Star Craft needs more than 16GB ram, pity they arent making those.

demented brave:

it was getting hard to get some of my DOS games to run as the 640k limit was being pushed hard thanks to CDROM and Audio drivers needing to be loaded into RAM plus games that used DOS/4GW were becoming more and more graphically intense. Luckily Windows 95 solved that issue but even 3.1 was a pain.

This is a boon for smaller Project Studios (Music Production) that often build their own workstations, the one thing missing from the AM5 platform is max capacity RAM operating at their prescribed memory transfer speed. Getting 96Gb at 5600 on just two slots is a great compromise given what has been available thus far, for potential builders that can't wait much longer for DDR5 to mature.
