Imo it would be better off with "just" fast gddr6 memory, as 70 cards are very much about price to performance, and power consumption aswell... both of which will be quite bad with these screaming edge gddr6x modules. But i very much agree that it should get 16gb.

Micron did a hell of a job if their power consumption is what they say it is. this will sell like crazy for Enterprise gpus - mainly because there is no way in hell that Nvidia 3090ti's are going to sell even a fraction of the development costs. Nvidia is fo' sho' going to pimp these out for non HBM cards where the price is a very small (but huge to us) object. i wouldn't be surprised if AMD does the same

That would still be really fast. Not that my 6800xt doesnt still kick ass. Currently on a 25inch 1920x1080 75hz monitor till I move into the new place. No room for the 49 inch. And in alot of games, its barely being pushed, even running 1440p downsampling.

I would have been very surprised if 1080p or rather 1440p 75hz was making the 6800 sweat 😛

$499(before tax) but the bus width is not compatible with the vram total.

haste:

I'd go for regular RTX 4080 + 16GB GDDR6X. That's the card I'm waiting for.
It wont have 16gb vram, as that would mean a 256 or 512 bit bus... and it aint gonna have that. It's gonna be 320 or 384 bit. So 10, 12, 20 or 24 gb are the possibilities. Im gonna guess that they are gonna give it 384 bit bus and 12gb vram.

Yeah, people seem to "forget" (aka not understand) that the vram has to match the buswidth... so you get bs rumours like that.

Most likely a typo / nobody cares to put something in for bus width. Or, they are doing a 970 VRAM thing over again 😀

They could do that aswell, but it probably wouldn't go down well when the new revision of the 3080 has 12gb 😛

Hehe if it sells for 499$ for real nobody will care for the 12gb usable ... I mean media will go after it for sure but people will buy em on the spot especially after suck GPU situation last 2 years

So 192bit - 12GB gddr6? I would rather see 256bit bus with 16gb for 4070.
