It's advertised as a 144Hz monitor. It was, in January 2020, said that it would overclock to 160 Hz. There is a firmware update out niw which adds the overclocking to 160Hz which I found thanks to this thread. Im trying it tonight, although the Youtube vids are telling me an updated spec DP cable will be needed, rather than the one it came with.

As someone who has the latest rapid IPS panel technology, Garbage for gaming!
Sure the response times are awesome, Colours are great.
But contrast is a joke and ruins dark scenes in games/movies, Also the IPS glow makes even a TN panel seem decent from the sides.
If you are a gamer and not into content creation, Go for the latest VA panels or an OLED tv especially if you game with lights off!

Aside from the Samsung VA panels, they all black smear - the Samsung ones have other issues (Super high VRR window & unresolved flickering).
OLED doesn't have a size under 48" until later this year.. but it's still 42" which I simply don't have the room for.

Meanwhile you can buy 120hz 4K OLED 48" with ZERO ghosting or smear, clouding issues or what ever for 1200$. I run it in ultra wide mode in games (so 3840x1440/1600). I can never go back to LCD technology. The great thing about going for a 4K panel is that its my GPU thats the limit. Even my 9 year old 2600K sandy bridge setup is not what is limiting my setup. Tested both in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077. My 9900K setup performance is the same in the resolution. Its insane.

Its weak. If your gonna go for a panel for pure graphics, why else would you want 4k, getting a weak HDR600 is crap.

this is why we still need sli support if games supported sli on 3090 like they did in the past we could hit 4k 160hz easy in some games

I have a HDR600 monitor and while its not OLED, it still looks quite good- even compared to my Sony x900e TV which has much higher contrast, way more dimming zones and is VA. Its an IPS panel and looks much better than my last VA monitor (Z35P), I really think people blow this stuff out of proportion. There are definitely areas it lacks in, lets be real, but saying HDR600 is crap is a bit much. Lackluster, or not quite there seems more appropriate.
I feel that QC issues have more of an impact on image quality than anything. Doesn't really seem to matter which tech you go with, they all have some major downsides and you just need to be honest and figure out what you can live with.
