If true, they are high as hell.

Is intel really that greedy ?? In 2017 the best CPU they had to over was the $350-360 I7 8700k and that was the first mainstream 6 core top dog from them; fast forward to 2021 and their top mainstream CPU (just +2 cores) costs 600 euros ? DO you see the price increase here? almost double !

Or you can look at $317 i7-2600k (2011) and $339 i7-7700k (2017). Both 4C/8T. Only real changes were in improving IMC to have 2.5times throughput (accompanied by memory development) and adding AVX2. And then in 2017 AMD came with Ryzen 7 1700X for $399, and that's what resulted in mentioned i7-8700k pricing. When talking about greed, I would look at time they were not forced to innovate. Nobody forced them to idle, right? It was their business strategy. Anyone and everyone could easily and safely clock Sandy to 4.5GHz. But intel was gradually giving people turbo clock increments from 3.7GHz towards 4.5GHz i7-7700k had out of the box while having tiny OC headroom left.

Looks like goto gaming chip. 600 euros for 8-core is insane.

Not a chance! I was forced to get a new CPU/mobo a few months ago after trying to hold out for Rocketlake, and thought I might still get the CPU. No chance at this price, and have you seen the projected prices of the mobos? I'm so glad I was forced to upgrade early, this is ridiculous.

I think You are wrong with this one. I7 6700K was a lot over a 1000$ until AMD present Ryzen series. Then suddenly, intel drop down prices of i7-7700k to 339$. That is the true. Greedy was a right word as Valentyn0 said.

I seriously doubt this is the MSRP. Sadly, this looks more like e-tailers have decided to do the scalping on their own this time, rather than to leave profiteering to others. Vote with your wallets people, it's the only way to force a change.

actually both 6700k and 7700k lunch with msrp of 303 usd you can google it but i never remember it at 1000 not even close now to the article i do not think those are msrp ..the 10900k has an msrp of 499 usd no ? at msrp will make the 10900 the superior choice to begin with :/

Might as well move the decimal point to the right one digit and watch AMD keep taking marketshare.

A few years ago no manufacter would have expected to sell a single PC component for 500-1000$ on considerable quantities. Now it's becoming the norm, GPUs.. CPUS... even MOBOs… I find it concerning.
data/avatar/default/avatar15.webp
Coffinlake , like i said , when Intel will have faster CPU , will make prices even higher than AMD . Only fools believed Intel will offer 6 core below 200$ and 8 core below 300$

You're honestly pathetic. Imagine being so emotionally invested in a corporation that doesn't give a flying f**k about you - that you feel the need to insult people. Insecure much? Also, people looking into new builds will take whatever is available to them. Full stop. Flagship zen 3's are still virtually non-existent..... Most zen 3's in fact...
Thats simple demand am afraid, brought aabout not only by the fact folks have shedloads of cash in the bank but also because the opposing offer from Intel is so poor, when Intel had the faster CPU last year then they were always out of stock its swings and roundabouts. Zen 3 is actually getting some availability now 5600x is widely available 5800x is the same 5900 and 5950 still patchy but available to preorder now which they were not before.
