*crickets chirping* ... It's so quiet in here. ah! I see why. This financial report essentially curb stomped all the usual suspects and all their claims of Intel being on the ropes, etc over the past year.

I do not think that did fly. Since start of Zen production I warned people multiple times that AMD is too small and can't really produce enough of chips to do meaningful damage to intel. AMD gaining 4% in HEDT, 2% in server, 0.3% in notebooks, IIRC. That's not going to make a dent. Especially since intel kept high prices while improving yields over time. Then, there was not need for year long results, each quarter said similar thing. = = = = But AMD did win 2018 in a way. They won in mindshare. With exception of fanboys/illiterates, AMD's CPUs are no longer considered trash or "poor man's solution".
