Odd choice IMO. I think it'd have been better for the consumer if they just added more memory channels, but, perhaps that would make the "tiles" more expensive.

The tiles concept/idea is the best thing to come from Intel in a very long time. Let`s see how they execute it...

those chips are 64 bits wide, lpddr5(x?), so 128 bit interface, the chip code brings up MT62F1G64D4AH-023 WT as the part number, the -023 suffix refers to the cycle time, which equates to a data rate of 8700Mbps 😱 so those 2 chips will provide about 140gb/s of bandwidth!, micron sells up to a 9600mbps bin for lpddr5x. (153gb/s ) 😱 😱 So really no need for more channels when you have that kind of speed 😀
