Been waiting for this, the question is what will they charge for the 8 core cpu? will the 6 core be the norm and the 8 extreme? Anyhow I will be getting the 8 core regardless but i will hold out till around October for some decent boards and maybe a new stepping.

my bet is
1000pounds for 8 core and around 750 for 6 core.
TBH i am more interested about ddr4 prices...

Very surprised it's coming so early. Guess they want to make AMD look like muppets 🙂 better start saving..
(for all those AMD lovers who are gonna start arguing that AMD are not trying to compete at that level, please just keep it for yourselves.they are not trying because they simply can't.They tried many times and it was pathetic. APU my A$$ 🙂

BLEH!
Ivy-E isn;t that old either. This could be interesting, though I'm curious as to why the DMI bandwidth hasn't improved anything...

8cores won't be cheap 700-800€, 6core ~500€ min for sure.

Me too, it was my no1 machine a real 8core 😀, but I just couldnt wait any longer..
At least I got a good OC batch and 8 threads vs 4core only before. I doubt I would get away with 4.5ghz+ on a 8core, so single core perf. should be better now at 4.7ghz hehe xD
But it would be nice to see 16threads 🤓

CODENAME-E is their extreme product, its for enthusiasts, just like titan, its not their normal line up so price shouldn't matter

In EU atm 4930K sells for ~ 470€, i kinda doubt it will be lower then that, would be nice yeah to see 6core variant for current 4core price ~ 260€ 😀
Looks like only 6 & 8 core variant

Apparently up to 55% faster 8core @ 3ghz vs 4core @ 3.7ghz, now if they make a base 3ghz then huh, kinda doubt it will Oc beyond 4.2 -4.4ghz and stay cool :frown:
Also it will have the same efficient onboard iVR like mainstream Haswell and later Broadwell..

If they do a 6 core at the current 4820k price it will have a locked multi and most likely a 3.0-3.2 frequency.
BTW I'm sure I can keep it cool under water. Anyone going for the 8 core CPU's most likely have the money to go H2O.

Oh, ok. I thought Haswell-E would be designated x89 not x99, although x99 does make more sense. It'll soon be time to retire my Asus Rampage 2 Extreme (x58 northwood motherboard) and this new chipset is The One. hallelujah! Praise Intel.
