And will finally be delivered from 2021 🙂 Why does Intel still stick to the narrow band DMI3 for the connection of the PCH ? (And H410 even still is only DMI2 !!!) Where does the NVME SSD with the PCIe lanes come out? This is not clear from the block diagram! I find the solution of AMD with the I/O DIE much smarter. Even if there is again the discussion about the I/O DIE. Sense / Nonsense of the PCIe Gen. 4 Speed breaks loose 😀

DMI 3.0 isn't too different from the 4x PCIe link that AMD uses for the chipset, except of course that Intel doesn't do PCIe 4.0 yet, so DMI 3.0 is basically a PCIe 3.0 4x link

Intel H410 "Total PCIe 3.0 Lanes (CPU + PCH) 22 (16 CPU + 6 PCIe 2.0)" PCIe 2.0 in year 2020.... I know H410 is a budget chipset but still... It even says it supports USB 2.0 in the overview picture (yes I know, peripherials don't need anything faster than 2.0, but every USB 3.x is backwards compatible so I don't understand what could be achieved by supporting three generations of USB ports).

I find hard to believe that any PC users looking to upgrade CPU and Motherboard next year will go for this Intel refresh and thats before you even consider the cost of Intel parts.

It still going to be faster in cpubound games. For people that like that kind of games. Ryzen 3600 is still going to be the best value choice for gamers 🙂

Like a chiplet design that would allow for far better yields resulting in competitive price : performance ratio? Nope, that would require giving up their slight edge in gaming benchmarks due to the slight latency hit. Intel needs a better manufacturing process, new architecture and to migrate to a chiplet design. If they could do all of that while also adding cool stuff like DMI 4, PCIe 4/5 and maybe even DDR5 they would have a clear advantage again. I expect this to be a repeat of the move from P4 to Core when AMD's 939 forced Intel to ditch their current plans and go a completely different way, just now sure of the timeline.

SURE! It has a amazing performance in any ways... very very fast! I put it on 4.2Ghz all cores with 1.32V and in any game 1080p at Ultra settings the system dont use more than 40%.

@QBI to install OS that doesnt offer 3.0 drivers on the install media. and i guess you never had a ssd on usb. definitely faster than 2.0 can do.

so they are launching yet another dead end platform, how cool is that now if they could price their hyperthreaded i5 competitively(by undercutting r5) that could be nice, but then you're still stuck on pcie3 and 10 cores, ive seen game benchmarks of the TR3 parts somehow beating intel's single threaded performance so it means as soon as AMD improves its yields & silicon quality across the board, intel's gaming advantage is gone, just like zen+ improved ipc and clocks a bit, zen2+ next year could very likely do the same

According to Intel, the following CPU series are vulnerable to Plundervolt attacks: Intel® 6th, 7th, 8 th, 9th & 10th generation CoreTM processors Intel® Xeon® Processor E3 v5 & v6 Intel® Xeon® Processor E-2100 & E-2200 families The vulnerability was reported to Intel in early June, and the company has now developed microcode updates that allow undervolting to be disabled. This is of course only a workaround, a real cleanup would only be possible - once again - by hardware changes.

another 16 cpu lanes ? with motherboards having virtual m.2, pcie slots and sata slots you can't populate because 1 gpu is already using all of your cpu lanes ? no thanks went AMD already, waiting for my trx40 motherboard (stop sending all of your boards to youtubers MSI !)

What are you going to use Threadripper for? I'm using my Threadripper for Ubuntu server 😛
