I assume that Meteor Lake will be positioned opposite AMD's ZEN 5 CPUs, with Raptor Lake Refresh being positioned for those that want to upgrade their Alder Lake systems (or their Raptor Lake systems, but it seems to be a bit early for an upgrade of those). Since Meteor Lake undoubtedly will use a new socket and will be DDR5 only, upgrading to that CPU will be a costly affair.

Next year will be definitely a year to upgrade for anyone still using ddr4 platforms.

Yes, if you need more than 100 fps in games definetely a year to upgrade. Can't see reasons to ditch my 5800x yet now that the thirst for new hardware is no more in me.
