intel has not been "concerned " about competition for more then 2 decades why would any of that change even with all the security hole and covid and fact that fact AMD is has a really good chip with ryzen. Time will tell what really happens, as it stand if and why I make my next pc it wont be intel, which will be first in very long time.

How can they be so optimistic with all those security vulnerabilities basically all their CPUs are suffering of...

new ones aren't coming to light until 2024

That's a very bad way to approach things for a CEO. I hope he doesn't believe what he says. Yes they are still selling. A reputation takes lot of years to be destroyed. Look hoe many years it took for IE to be annihilated despite being awful. But if you don't address the issues eventually your good reputation will be destroyed and it's very hard to build it back after. Intel is still doing okay. But they need something more exciting on the market. I was checking the reviews of their last laptop cpu and it was pretty meh. Was still behind AMD in multi-threaded production and while it was getting back gaming lead by a few frames it was not a landslide victory with the igpu specially at 15w. I just don't see how they will keep the lead against 3rd gen Ryzen apu next year since they can barely beat the current iteration of Ryzen apu and mostly in low threaded use cases. They need to claw back no later than first quarter of 2022 or else they will start to lose significant market share. If their new laptop apu is any indication of their next desktop cpu it wont be impressive. They'll take back gaming lead by a few frames and still lose multi threaded workload and in 2021 it will become harder and harder to find single (low) threaded workload.
I agree with you but that´s not going to change the fact that there´s limited competition. If you don´t like the CPUs from Intel, then you have no alternative than to go with AMD or vice versa. The same with GPUs. with Nvidia in place of Intel, of course. And to make things worse, AMD has no chance of releasing as many CPUs as Intel because they have to share "their" foundries with other companies, making it impossible to release as many CPUs as they would like. The same applies to AMD and Nvidia concerning the lack of alternatives. That´s why Intel is not too worried about the current state of their business, at least for now. That can change if they continue this path for too long, as you wrote.

Well they lost me as a customer this year.

I went with AMD for the first time in over a decade, but if Intel has the better hardware on my next upgrade cycle, I will just as happily go with Intel. Performance isn't subservient or subject to brand loyalty.

It's sort of funny--Intel *hates* even having to talk about AMD. (Apple of course, isn't in the running.) Years ago, when AMD was skinning Intel's hide with the A64, whenever Intel was asked about AMD in an interview they'd say, "Well, we don't really believe we have any competition." It's very different, today. But, realistically, Intel spokespersons are never going to say, "It's over, man! Game over, man! We're toast, man!"....;)

I´m also considering a 5600X. If i could get one around the 250€ mark.

Oh for sure at the very worst they'll fall to 50% market share which is still very good. So for the companies itself no problem at all. For his job security that would not be good though 😉
