Awesome! I hope they under promise and over deliver.

More competition the better.

Usually, it's the other way around (marketing team shenanigans). I am genuinely curios about the next architecture iteration, if there will be an improved one. If wouldn't be for their not so great power consumption in idle, I could see myself buying one if their GPU.

Enthusiast products or destined for the low end pre-built gaming market?

This is somewhat more interesting than that upcoming 2k 5090

In my experience US companies tend to over promise and under deliver. Let's first see what Intel has really cooked up and if they managed to overcome the deficiencies in the original Arc architecture that they weren't able to remove before product release.

If all goes according to keikaku, at least from last I heard (when it looked like they'll fail to reach what they wanted), the top Battlemage will be low end and compete with the 4070.

your definition of low end is faulty

My definition of low end is my definition. To me, the 4070 is a 4060 with a big fat lie of a name, and a shitty one at that in an age where 4K high fps isn't some imaginary thing for the future. Compare a 1080 Ti that's older than you to the "4070" to get a reminder of where it's at.

Pretty sure the PCI-E5 will be @ x4 forcing all with a PCI-E3 mobo to upgrade. 😉
