Meanwhile AMD are on Gen 2 7nm and are now into advanced 5nm design, cant wait till they drop an RDNA2 GPU onto a mobile chip there will be much gnashing of teeth and lamentation at Intel towers. Still we do need Intel to bring its best otherwise AMD could go down the same road to stagnation and wallet scalping

19% IPC improvement for series 11 (Rocket Lake) sounds nice. means that Alder-Lake on beautiful 10nm will smash AMD windows 🙂

they're already scapling the hell out of r5000 cheapest 6/8 core starting at 350/450 euros selling higher than intel's 8/10 imo the most interesting thing will be to see how big+little design of intel/apple stands against amd's ccd design I was pretty sure intel pulled out big+little just cause they could make 16 big cores on 10nm,but now that apple is doing same thing on 5nm and claiming revolutionary performance.

Theres barely any improvement lol, its purely clock rate. Intel are being absolutely fucking shady about how they describe their performance lately.

Don't bet on it with huge amount of money. 😀

Who writes those sale pitches for hardware companies making it sound like everyone should hail their saviour?

I'd be excited for that too but Intel doesn't have a good track record on those numbers, the fine print is probably still compared to Skylake in unspecified applications. Wait for third party benchmarks. 🙂

Scalping? Why because they charge a premium for a premium product, do you actually expect AMD CPUs to be cheaper than Intels for perpetuity

no but I don't expect them to be more expensive either

So Intel provided its best user desktop CPU to the public for the same price as say an FX8370 did they? Grow up I did some checking on Historical prices I think these are correct but I may be wrong slightly FX8350 2014 launch $249.00 I74970k 2014 june 2014 $339.00 nuff said I think

except 4790k was running circles around that 8350,and their previous 2 generations (ivy, sandy) were faster too. we can end the discussion here if you're not gonna present things as they are and as they were.you clearly have double standards,no point in arguing with a fanboy. ignore.

No but, 350 euros for 6 core CPU in the year of our Lord 2021... does sound awful close to scalping

Well it was 277 euros back in 2014 for that Intel part which makes the 2021 CPU 26% more expensive it probably has at least 50% more performance and has increased by 3.7% YOY, seems reasonable to me especially when you consider the research and investment needed by AMD to provide that performance.

the same people that created the problem at Intel
