I can't believe Intel is actually stressing about the Threadripper CPUs. Lol!

What's this even supposed to mean?

2 grand. I see Intel will only be charging one dollar per watt for this chip. Nice.

Threadripper and Epyc will do some damage.

Nothing lasts forever. This is particularly applicable in business. Intel have become complacent and arrogant, and AMD have finally caught them with their pants around their ankles. This has all the hallmarks of Intel's C2D offensive, and the're rightfully worried and scrambling to minimize any long-term fallout. Even if I were never to buy an AMD chip (though that Threadripper is looking unbelievably attractive), I welcome their reentry with open arms. A real, competitive race has been long overdue. I have no doubt Intel will catch up and overtake, they're simply too flush with cash not to just throw billions at the problem, but hopefully by then AMD will have made enough money to sustain their momentum.

Intel is greedy juwes corporation who wants monopoly and doesn't want to share money with anyone else
Thats what every company wants. But they pretend to be "nice" when they can't actually reach that goal.

They are in real panic. Rushed out products everywhere in hopes they can keep their monopoly. They will soon revert to their old dirty practises if they didn't already. I expect them to rush out Coffee Lake soon.

It's people with this mentality that allowed Intel to do what it did. Both AMD bulling during decades plus the last 7 years of incremental 5% evolution and 10% rise in price every year. I never owned an AMD CPU, but my mind is focused on the best price/performance plus longevity for an upgrade. Currently rocking my 2nd AMD GPU and probably my next build will be all AMD.

They did when Ryzen was releasing, and have with their slides about threadripper/EPYC.

People are acting like people who haven't been buying amd are just haters... This is the first time in a LONG time that AMD has made a product that had made people want to buy their product over intels. These new high core cpus have changed the game completely and my next build will be an amd one but bullozer and all amds recent garbage have been seen as budget alternatives for a reason. Thank god amd made threadipper because they were heading for bankrupsy and we woulf have been spoon fed $1000 6 core extreme edition cpus from intel Now the standard i7 going forward will be 6 core.

They've been stressing since Ryzen came out. The rushed half-assed and over priced i9 is an example. The rumoured 6 core + i7 next year. They have been holding the PC market back for years and rinsing 'enthusiasts' yearly. So yes in a nutshell they are worried and so they should be.
This is the truth. Intel has had no competition in years and now they finally have AMD making them work,.

Who can blame Intel they are a business if they can milk a current product by spending very little R&D by tweaking it a hair and everyone is going to buy the product then why the hell not. We all know that is what has been going on. I'm just thankful competition is back so this will stop and progress will continue. Glofos 7nm process that they effectively purchased from IBM(bought out the entire division of IBM) should be very good, it has a chance to be better than Intel's 10nm, this is what really will shake Intel if it comes to fruition. I even suspect Intel has been sandbagging 10nm and IceLake because of the lack of competition. Will only know based off of how fast those two things come to market. If that is the case we will see both of those much sooner than the current forecasts.

This is what competition gives you, thanks to AMD, Would have been even better if we had some more players.

Intel will probably sue AMD for some patent infringement in the near future.

I think thay decade of anti competetive practices from intel with the dell blackmail thing didn't help. I know intel was fined billions but I wonder if any of that money ever went to amd...

In 2009 Intel did pay AMD $1.25 Billion for the anti competitive practices. That same time Intel and AMD did a cross licensing deal. The major part for AMD is they had to own the FAB of any x86 chips produced prior to this 2009 agreement. AMD had Intel by the balls and could have got a lot more than 1.25B if it had went to trial, which of course is why Intel wrote them check without going to trial. They never did share all the details since this was a civil suit but most speculate there was a lot more in the cross licensing. Intel very likely can't sue AMD for a very large range of patents.

Wow, I thought I remembered reading something like 2.8 billion. But intel has been fined many times, maybe that was a seperate eu suit against them....I know there were more.
