In this digital age, no matter how much they say you can disable or block something you don't want, who can guarantee that it works? so people often think that these custom O/S's are better than the original, providing more performance or better privacy.

personally i bought 4 licenses from Hilbert's links , if you are like 15 years old pirated versions are ok . Lessons have to be learned 🙂
Other lessons that i learned are that the same issues can be found on normally activated versions of windows and that studies can be sponsored or guided to a certain result.

I mean sure you can't download from official source, but there are a lot of torrents of MSDN ISOs on "reputable" torrent trackers from trusted posters. Seems some people just like to download some shady repacked grabage coz "they work better" in their mind.

Russians can also download torrents than verify them against the official sha256 values. Even if m$.com is entirely blocked, a quick google brings them up on various reputable sites.
Though if one wants to try a customized iso, Yea gonna have to be carefull. Hopefully there is a way to malware check those EFI partition in the iso's available soon if not already.

Recently I downloaded Win11 ISO through MediaCreationTool - I want to try customize it to bypass MS account page in installer. Either MCT allows to download ISO in Russia or VPN was active at that time, so no need in torrents.
