TN panels making a huge return lately.
Prices of 4K going down.
GPUs still can't handle 4K. (not talking about multi-gpu configurations).
Seems like Nvidia and AMD need to make a huge jump in their performance. From 1080p which is the norm to 4k. Single GPU's need to support 4k @ 60hz with high settings in games and this is not here yet.

It's as good as 4K monitors currently are. And yes, it's too early. Only SLI/tri-SLI or CF can currently do 4K at decent FPS, and someone with such a rig won't settle for 60 Hz. 1440p is the way to go for now, and it's about bloody time we get rid of 1080p.
