I'd rather have the new Eizo FS2735. QHD, 144 hz and IPS ๐Ÿ˜€

I was also really interested in the Eizo until i found out it uses the same panel as the ASUS ROG Swift 279Q. It seems to have really bad issues with IPS glow. :bang:

I'd recommend seeing one in person. Sometimes the perceived glow is much greater or smaller than described by other person.

http://i.imgur.com/aMKbSEY.jpg A lot worse compared to my Dell U2412M. I expect better from a monitor doing 800+ euros. A lot of people have returned their screen just to get a new one with the same issues.

Ouch, that's massive. I hope it's not that bad when watched perpendicularly.

You will always see IPS Glow in the Corners.

we'd all rather have top tier products, the issue is obviously $$$$$$$$$$ and some more $$$$.

Just out of curiousity, how is the image quality on a 1080p 27" compared to a 1080p 24"? Will not the pixels be somewhat "stretched" at that resolution on the 27"?

That's way to steep, i found a BenQ one with 1440p freesync, also 144hz for 449 euro. I'm actually thinking about getting it instead of a GTX 1070, but that would probably stupid as i'm using a borrowed 660 Ti. It'll probably run WoW and Overwatch decently though.

Welcome to 2 years ago iiyama

Any 1080p monitor larger than 24" looks terrible imo.

It's ok'ish imo, but 1080p at 27 inch is more interesting for those looking for a monitor that can do high Hz, has a decent size and allows you to maintain a high framerate. I'll still be gaming at 1080p for a while, especially for MP games, I value having a constant 120/144 fps more then IQ. Imo iiyama it's offering isn't "welcome to 2 years ago". More like "welcome to TODAY and not what we expect in 2 years from now". I currently have the predecessor of this monitor, 27 inch @120 hz. It has served me well for its specific use case.

With the 1070/80 coming out, it's probably easy to achieve 100fps at 1440p.

In todays games, not tomorrows. I think a balance still needs to be struck in terms of memory bandwidth. Let's not forget the "base" resolution has always gone upwards slowly, but steadily: 800x600 -> 1024x768 -> 1280... and I think we're at 1080/1440p right now, depending on use case scenario (fps vs IQ). Basically, the shift away from 1080p has begun but it's not quite there yet.
