Apple does OK
I agree, the price is relative to customer expectations and possibilities ($$$). Apple phones and IOS provide a normalized customer experience and a lot of people pay for that the price Apple ask. Personally i prefer Android phones. i own a HTC One M9 and at 650 euros i don't think it was "cheap" or a gift, price was not a factor in my purchase. High end devices are about performance not price, for cheap price and low performance we have consoles, Morpheus and GearVR. :)

Maybe you have the impression i dislike VR, i don't. I really want VR to have success but i think this tech need on launch at least a few AAA titles played by a wide audience to succeed and not only niche or VR only games. FPS and adventure games wil be great but "can be converted for VR" is not present...it's future. :)
Finding THIS took me like 2 seconds. Any game which has "VR features" as "3D, FOV, Warp, Tracking" has perfect support.

Yes, i saw this list before. In this list...How many titles with VR support status "available" are not indie games? How many modern AAA titles? Half-life 2 is certainly not a modern AAA title. Dirt rally, assetto corsa? Any more? "confirmed" and "planned" are expectations not present games.

Look for yourself. And while you do, get this: "Indies does not equal bad, high funding does not equal good." And when you are downplaying value of older titles, have you actually played HL2 at least in stereoscopic 3D if not in VR? I did and I had blast with it as quite a few people I know.

Yeah I actually fired HL2 up thinking I would play the first few minutes and be done, I ended up going through the whole game in VR. It was awesome.

I agree, indies are not bad or AAA titles good simply by budget. I buy a lot of indie games lately on Steam and also enjoy old titles like Half-Life 2. I recently bought the "Valve Complete Pack" who includes 24 Valve titles (not many "new" titles inside) and i play them a lot, specially L4D and HL ones. IMHO indies and old titles are not going to make VR headset succeed, performance in modern AAA titles will.

Vr These look pretty cool. I may get one when the price comes down a bit and the bugs are worked out. But I am looking more forward to Microsoft lens coming out in 2019.

I'll likely buy my next headset off ebay second hand, there's not enough titles out to warrant a purchase at this price but I still think it's positive news that we have VR products available to the consumer again even at these prices, it's still early days for VR and as the technology matures I expect we'll see some considerable price drops. It is a niche product but the experience is incredible and I still get a kick out of peoples reactions when they put the headset on and look around for the first time.

I think it will boil down to the experience and the available games in the end. We are all a bit shocked at that price tag, yet many of us run 6-700+$ graphics cards. We have PC cases costing more than 250$, 144Hz screens of 400+$, ... Price will not be the main issue for it to succeed. The overall experience will and the support for the right type of games. If the hardware is really that good as they say it is (have never tried VR before) and there are good "launch" titles that can fully immerse the player, VR has lift off !
