Nice rig! Classic looks, quality modding. Good choice, Hilbert! It's good to see a "normal" set-up for a change. After all these uber-mods with their own threads and advertising support, I was looking forward to see something more attainable for the more casual modder.

That´s the type of rig your mate looks at and think "yeah, this guy is serious about it". I like it.

Not every rig has to have water cooling with 480mm rad's and fully painted case with modding out the eye balls to be a sweet looking and great rig. Great rig, and well done to the winner well deserved.

Aww yeah, an air cooled rig. Very nice.

Agreed, on the other hand, sometimes it seems all you need to do in order to win one of these contests is have at least 3 of the following: * At least $2500 worth of parts and work * Modified something (including something as small as changing the color of something) * Involves an i7, 12GB+ of RAM, at least 1 SSD, and an enthusiast level GPU * Lots of lighting, or, is steampunk themed While I see nothing wrong with people dedicating their time and hard earned money on a good PC, these rigs get to be pretty repetitive or even relatively generic. I like seeing something out of the ordinary (in an enthusiast perspective) or a rig that does something other than play crysis 3x over at max details. I'd like to see someone win with something worse than an i5, because that means they didn't win due to being financially advantageous.

Not sure if its considered the same thing any more (as back then there was no prize :bang: - I should make a backdated claim?), but many years back I got the readers rig spot with a PC that really wasn't all that great IMO (in fairness though the readers rigs section was pretty new). My old rig (under my old forum name) - man the size of that monitor!. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/readers_rigs_stoner_pimp,1.html And regarding my PSU that is talked about in the article, it actually blew up and took out almost the entire system a few months later (CPU, Ram, MoBo, GPU all died as a result). You live and learn (hence my very overboard PSU I have now 😀).

Beautiful rig there!
