Nice, searching for such a form factor, but I saw that it would be around US$300. Waaaayyyyyy too expensive.

i was about to say that it is a great raspberry replacement. But not at that price eventually. ( for integrated entertainment not for IOT / prototypes )

No INTEL NIC, no buy. Put 2 Intel NIC on that board, instant buy. pFsense in a small package, almost negligible power consumption. Win win win. But this, no way

I remember a long while back VIA coined the term Pico ITX. I wonder if this conforms to the same dimensions (too lazy to check), or if there's even a trademark on the name (since I've never seen anyone else use the size).

ARM is still better, and is cheaper... Also the price of the pico-ITX make the price high, but if i want more power i would buy a thin-ITX, and if i want a real small system i would go ARM or Rasberry if i have no money... Also on the next Intel NUC you can have special configuration that are way better and cheaper than this motherboard + the chassis (yes they are also expensive too 🙂 ) for few more Cm... It's a nice board but right now i would bought something else if i have the need of a small computer... *Edit* for those who enjoy the idea: Pico ITX fit in a 5,25 bay (the ODD bay for those born in this century) 😉

Well said sir. Completely agree. I mean I am running a Intel 3350 chip for pFsense. Lol, but its an i5-3350p. So overkill.

Right now it is on "pre-sale" even in asia... So no price yet. Equivalent industrial Pico-ITX with same spec and CPU but lot less "friendly" is 139 Euro without Taxes.

Yeah 300 is definitely too much. Might as well go for one of the Nvidia Jetson boards, where you'll get a LOT more GPU power and probably more CPU power too. Sure, even the Jetson Nano seems to be a little bit larger, but if the size difference matters that much, I've found ODROID tends to offer some of the best performance in a small package you can get. The RPis are ok if you want something that "just works". What they've really got going for them is add-on compatibility and a large community.
