Nice to see lately all Motherboards take audio a bit more seriously. ALC 1150 with protective shield, isolating the audio circuitry and amps... Extremely hard to find a difference let's say, against Sound Blaster Z. Especially whilst Creative is notorious about not supporting their own hardware, software-wise.

They are getting there but they're still no match for a dedicated sound card imho. Gigabyte is definitely running at the front of the pack on audio but a little behind on support

The Z97 SOC Force looked like it only had 8 phases, and this thing has 24? Gigabyte please.

this board looks absolutely stunning. After a horrendous experience with Gigabyte i would never buy another motherboard from them again, but for someone who isnt Jaded by bad experiences i can see the appeal for this. Like said above me its nice to see mobo manufacturers upping the quality of their onboard audio. I am suprised that someone like ASUS has not incorporated a xonar chip or daughter card right into their motherboard... would be a great additional reason to buy one of their $500+ motherboards...

I guess the jokes on you. Many people are enjoying great sound with Z/ZXr cards on 10 using 8.1 drivers.
